found this bag on amazon looking around. they say it's not very durable but it looks decent in the 'peyote' color. they don't appear to be canvas, however

Personally I think you could find something better by asking around here and continuing your search.

I also think durability is key to a messenger bag. A great place to find cool bags are surplus stores...german 'breadbags' and medic bags are pretty unique and inexpensive. Another website to try is sportsmansguide...they have a pretty neat government surplus listing of all things surplus worldwide...well what they get from around the world that is.

Cheers
Nick

i'm looking for something that could play the part of the indy MKVII bag from 10 feet away but also be suitable for actual use. I've seen that most people's MKVII are out of stock so i'm just looking around. sportsmansguide has a lot of cool cool (really cool) stuff. thanks for that link!

Have you considered a MkVI bag, then? My understanding is Endicotts have some of these in stock. You can also find repro MKVI bags, too. It's still Indy accurate since that's what he carried in ToD.

Here's the MkVI repro: http://www.lawranceordnance.com/khaki-a ... other.html

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find this:

I have one of these Lawrance Ordnance bags. They're actually not bad for the money. The colour is a little off (too yellowy) but I managed to fix that with a little bleach and some OD green fabric dye.

How does the material weight/durability compare to an original or other repro bag? Does it have the center divider inside? I've actually considered getting one of these bags as a general carry bag...
