This is probably an absurd thing to hope for, but is it possible to retrofit gussets to a jacket? Mine's a Wested LC with enormous arm-holes at the shoulder-sleeve connection, and it makes me feel like I have a patagium when I lift my arms up (a patagium is a web of flesh, like that seen in gliding mammals, etc.).

I assume gussets relieve this problem to some extent?

My own theory is that higher armholes, and not necessarily gussets, fix that problem. Platon made the argument that the armholes in the screen-worn jackets have a much higher armhole placement, and that just seems to jell:

Does anyone know if Peter will make the "higher armholes" that are part of the 80s-fit on the LC jacket if you ask for it?

i think peter will and can make this hybrid....the only problem is to ensure that the manufacture gets this information while they are cutting the leather.

a problem with wested's ordering webpage is that when gemma returns the order request with a jacket order no., your 'comments' section is lost and therefore the customization requests are lost (at least i did not get my comments returned to me when gemma confirmed my orders). did anyone else have this problem? this is why i stuck to providing them my own paper copies of my specifications.

Even though it seems lost, I'm sure Wested still recieves it anyways.

With my Wested orders, whenever I sent them an order, I included specs in the 'special requests' box. The confirmation page was empty, and so were the confirmation emails from Wested. But when the jacket was delivered, my jackets had *most* of the specs I requested.

I had a similar experience to Castor. My e-mail to Wested with the "special requests" as to sizing etc. did not show up in the confirmation of my order e-mailed by Gemma, but they were all included in the eventual jacket. I believe Wested receives them.

The bag will easily hold two juvenile Gray Squirrels (I speak from experience), in this pic they are hanging out on my shoulders, kind of hard to see. It really startles people when they notice I have a big squirrel or two crawling around on me or peering out from under the flap on my bag.

They are gorgeous... a match for Australian sugar gliders, though?

Squirrels, why did it have to be squirrels?

Flying Squirrels are actual rodents (they are native to the US), Sugar gliders are marsupials, I have handled both species. They are about the same size and glide the same way, but the Flying Squirrels seem more agile and they can glide for greater distances. Sugar Gliders are more popular as pets in the US, mainly because they are easier to breed. I prefer the actual flying squirrels, but I like the Sugar Gliders also.

Flying squirrels are a big pain in the backside here, the European Union is halting all building plans near sites where the squirrels have been seen since they are extremely rare in Europe but common in Finland. Same thing with wolves which hang around people's lawns and eat their pets and animals and stuff like that, the wolves are protected species and thus can't be killed.

LOL talk about a thread getting a life of its own... I am still scratching my head wondering how that picture of 'Jock the Squirrel' entered the fray... and was actually surprisingly relevant!

I would think it's possible to retrofit a gusset onto a jacket, but when in doubt, you could always just shoot an email off to your jacket vendor of choice.

I see no reason why gussets couldn't be added after the fact... of course the lineing would have to be partially taken apart and put back together. Perhaps have Peter sell you a small piece of matching leather and have the alterations done locally, see your yellowpages.. there are usually people associated with Dry Cleaners that do alterations to leather. Of course it may help to take pictures in showing a good shot of the gussets on another jacket.
