Pics of my Alden's
Here are a few pics of my Alden's<if anyone cares to look. They are about 5 years old. I recently had the stitch put in the tongue which makes them a lot more comfortable.
That stitch does wonders, doesn't it? I had mine done and I'm so glad I did! Otherwise the tongue would slide and my ankles would be up against plain laces - and that's not comfortable.
Good looking boots! I like the color - mine are much darker, but I got them this year. Do you wear them daily?
In Christ,
Shane

Mine came dark. I don't mean dark like a Wested or anything, but probably a shade and a half darker than yours - unless they're significantly darker without the flash. Yours look a little more orange than mine, which look like a burnt brown. Also - have you replaced your heel? Mine is black on the bottom, and yours looks like it matches the wood.

The color is pretty accurate in the photo's, even with the flash.....I've got some dark brown polish I've been putting on them. The heels are the originals, there was quite a while I never wore them because the laces broke and I never got around to replacing them. They do show a little brown in the pic, but they are really black.

I'll post some more pics of the the stitch that holds the tongue.....I took them to a shoe repair shop and they did it for me.
I don't exactly know what you mean, they are 10 and a 1/2 sized shoes. I ordered them online, no professional fitting, they cost enough off the rack. lol. I'll post some more pics with something to show the scale, maybe it's an optical illusion making them look smaller....I dunno.jones7 wrote:Are Aldens suppose to fit like that? They look to small. Did you have them professionally fit?

I think jones7 is referring to the appearance in the second image where there seem to be some bulges on the sides near the front of the boot, as though your foot is too wide and pushing through the leather. But I reckon it might just be an effect caused by certain natural creases that have formed.
BTW, although annoying, isn't it more SA to have the tongue move to the side?

Ok, I see what you mean, but no they fit perfectly, and I suppose it is just natural distressing. I used to work outside a lot and I wore them near everyday back then, so they got good and broken in.Satipo wrote:I think jones7 is referring to the appearance in the second image where there seem to be some bulges on the sides near the front of the boot, as though your foot is too wide and pushing through the leather. As far as being more "SA" with the tongue hanging over to the side....I don't care if HF wore a thong on screen, I'm not wearing one because I'm sure a thong isn't comfortable either.

Thanks fellas...I just really like the way those looked and thought maybe there was a certain type of cream or something you were putting on them...
Where they the pumpkin color when you first got them or the brown color that we are getting now?
I'm one of the few people who actually like the pumpkin color on the 405's and I would love to get a pair if they were still around...But of course they are all gone now...
