Well with the Australian Dollar being so high I thought it was time to get one of David Morgans whips to add to my collection. I had quite an enjoyable chat with Mr. Morgan and we talk about whips, whipcrackers and whipmaking. Here are some pictures of a whip I made Before I recieved my Morgan last week. I hope to be able to make an exact copy now that I have the real thing.
And my whip wall in my workshop. One day I'm going to have a museum.
Also for those of you interested in Australian style whipcracking you should check out this video download here
http://www.abc.net.au/landline/content/ ... 058067.htm it should be available for the rest of this week.
Kind Regards
Simon

Great looking whip!
You're still going to Glen Innes, right? Last time we talked you mentioned something about going to Gold Coast on Friday night. I'll have to give you a call so we can work out the plans.
I'm getting 4 new whips from Chris Barr at Glen Innes; one is 24x32 in red and black.

Hey Simon!
I'm happy to hear you finally got a Morgan! Hopefully you ordered it before his price increase.
Thanks for posting the link to the video as well! It's great to see those kids cracking whips! And they're pretty darn good. Your three tone handle pair in the video looked great too!
Adam,
Now I'm really envious of you.
) Not only are you going to Australia and meeting Simon and everyone, but you also are getting the 32 plait red and black chris barr whip! I was really wanting that one!!!
Although, at the same time, I am happy you got it, because I at least get to see it now.
I can't wait to hear all about the trip. Have a lot of fun, and say hello to everyone for me.
Regards,
Paul Nolan

Hi Everyone
I'm looking forward to meeting Adam and Chris at Glen Innes, it should be a real learning curve on seeing everyones work. Apparently they get up to 40 stockwhips entered in the comp.
Adam
I haven't talked to Ben yet about picking you up from the airport, but I will let you know.
Paul,
I paid $710 US dollars for the whip, so I don't know if that was before or after the price increase.
That whip in Whisky red looked really nice in the other post. I am currently getting 350skins tanned and I am hoping to have another colour which will be like the packers "Whisky". I will be calling that red whisky "roan".
For those of you that don't know, there is a movie coming out in Germany called "Calling all Angels" that I made a couple of whips for. It is the same company that Paul has made whips for the telivision show. I hadn't been able to say, but I have now been given permission.
I was able to get the Origanal Stockwhps sent back to me with a signed certificate by the producer, prop master and director. It is actually in the picture of my wall of whips next to the first pair of whips on the right. It was a stockwhip and will go in my museum, one day
Kind Regards
Simon

Thanks Christian
It would be great to catch up sometime and do some whipcracking. This time of the year there are a few competitions, so you should try and make it to one of these just to watch and we can teach you some tricks after the comp. We have one a devonport on December 1st at the Show.
And yes, I'm near the overpass. On my contact me page on my website there is a map of where to find my shop. I'm beside the Roofing Centre. It's a bit tricky to find.
Will catch up one day I'm sure.
Kind Regards
Simon

Nice! Morgan's bullwhips are fine as rubber hen's teeth
), but MAN his prices have gone up! Back in 1997 I bought my first Morgan (a 12-foot) for $515, which was the price of his 8-foot Indy bullwhips when I got one in 2001. Have you seen the price that a 12-foot #456 in black commands? That's a down-payment on a house or car!
