I just recived these items today... wanted to hear experts' opinions.... Total was around 20 bucks... They are all made of pleather... It came with gunbelt+holster+whip holder. Gun holster looks pretty good but I don't know it's sturdy enough to put a real gun in it... Belt is okay... Whip holder is actually quite good... It came with a detachable strap that is lined with belcro for easy size adjustment... For a starter kit, I think it's pretty good. Can't really complain since I only paid 20 bucks for it... Here are some pics... enjoy!!
No, for what you paid for all of it that's not bad. I guess the only two things I don't care for are the color of the leather and that the holster is just so flat.
The whip holder looks like it should function really well.
I think whoever made these would do a lot more business if he or she didn't use the same color of leather for everything. There's no contrast and I don't know if you could dye that leather or not.
I would stuff something in that holster right away to get rid of the "pancake look".
Cool!! Thanks for the tip, my good sir!! I stuffed the holster with a sock for now... Haha... what a cliche... Yeah I felt the same about the color of the items... They looked a bit too "uniformed".... lacked a character... These will do just fine till I get the real ones I guess... I've read whole bunch of articles about different combinations, but Can you recommend me any? Based on your personal opinion? I wonder what the experts' general view on belt+holster+whip holder issue is... I think I am going to go for more "screen accurate" look... Any ideas please??
For a basic costume piece, I think it's great for only 20 bucks. At that price, you could afford to try to distress and color the pleather with a darker shoe polish, if it will take. As for it being useable as real gear, I'm sure the holster will work fine for a plastic or resin gun prop, but I wouldn't recommend trying to house a real gun in it.
the added bonus of this acquisition is that you now have the patterns and hardware to upgrade to a leather gunbelt rig if you're a handy leathersmith (or know of one)

Clever! Nice to know that sleep depravation hasn't kicked in yet!
You can also try wiping it with watered down acrylic paints, sponging on some variation in colour and dry brushing on some highlights.
if that's the same one I saw on there, it looks nothing like the picture. the only reason I didn't pick up the one I saw was because I thought it had the company logo branded on the side of the belt. maybe it is different.. $30 was what they were charging for the one I saw. funny how I went from considering a $30 belt/whip holder/holster setup to a $160 one. you DEFINITELY could make that work though.
It looks pretty decent as a costume piece. The only downside I'd say is that it's made of pleather. Personal opinion, I can't stand the stuff. It just feels........... gross.
