Peters Bros. Indy Custom

Post by jeremy3178 »

Here's some pics of my Peters Bros. Indy custom. Had it for a year and I'm pretty happy with it. I figured i would let the experts here have a look and see what they think.

Looks great. I like the somewhat tight/somewhat relaxed pinch. Reminds me of the TOD Bridge scene hat, which I love. Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering about the Peter Bros. customs they started offering. Which one is this? Is it the 100% beaver or is this one of the rabbit blended hats?

I think it looks great, however....the ribbon doesn't look very dark. Is that because of the lighting? I prefer the ribbon to either be dark brown or black on my hats. :)

This one is the beaver felt, I do believe. The ribbon is very dark brown, it is the lighting and the fact these were taken with a cell phone camera. I'll try to get some better quality pics up.

Cool. 8)

You'll have to let us all know how the hat holds up over time. I've been thinking about getting another hat and I was looking at the rabbit blend they were offering over there. :)

Did you go for the stiffer felt or did you opt to go with less stiffner in the hat?

It was pretty stiff when I got it, and I've had it about a year now. I just recently got the nerve up to crush it and ball it up really good. It's really helped the shape and feel of the hat.

Harry,
They have a new felt just within the last month or so that they've stocked expressly for those who like softer hats. Based on my conversation with their Commander 'n' Chief when they were preparing to add that felt, it may be the best stuff they've ever offered. He sounded pretty excited about it. If it looks as good as Jeremy's, I think it'll become popular.

Thanks, I'm really not sure of the raw dimensions. When I got it it was already bashed.

"Stock" Custom Indy's can be a "tough fit," for some. Open crowns appear to be "about" 6 1/8 inches. Tall for many.

I like the original dimensions (fits my face), although, the two I own varied in both brim and crown height.

Nice looking hat. Should give you good service.

:D LOL!!
There was always something incongruent (at least when I purchased my hats) to the extent the Custom Indy was generally being "spec'ed" to the "_ version" dimensions.

Who would have "thunk" I could have had it my way?
