Hello, COW members. I'll cut to the chase. I recieved my Adventurebilt earlier today! I absolutly love this hat. I strongly suggest on ordering an AB. I would like to thank everyone on COW for all your advice on helping me make this great decision on purchasing an AB and I would also like to thank Steve Delk for all the craftsmenship he put into my hat. Thank you.
I haven't taken a lot of photos yet, but here's five of them.

well if it is a 7 5/8s it looks terrible and you need to send it to me so I can properly dispose of it.
If it is NOT a 7 5/8s then it is a most beautiful hat
I think there is an AB thread in the Hats section, you should drop some pictures of your hat there too.

Nice choice of lighting for that final picture...
Those pictures of the fedora looked so [darn] impressive, that if anything, this is really getting me hyped for my AB!

the inside lining with the headpiece and the initials in the sweatband alone is worth the price of admission

At Last! The true cause of Global Warming has been revealed!
Sweet lid, man. And in under a year. I honestly didn't think he'd get this far so fast. I don't know if it's just me, but Steve's work has reached a point that the AB felt and workmanship (if photographed in good enough light) is quite distinctive, visually. We all know he's got the shaping down, but the texture, sheen, color, etc.... despite working himself delerious, I think he's cranking out some of his best work lately.

Keep in mind that waiting for a year isn't necessarily the norm. Since he provided the hats for IJ4, it's understandable why there was a delay in getting a number of hats out. But now he's able to concentrate more on customer hats again, which may shorten the wait time for current orders (at least until the flood of new requests come in). Still, I personally find his hats are worth the wait.

First thanks for the kind words. And I will humbly admit my hats are the best they have ever been in so far as workmanship is concerned. I have gotten pretty decent in the "little things" that goes into making a hat. The more you make, the better you get is very very true and nothing can replace practice.
The Indy 4 film really wrecked my turnaround times, and I have had to make more film hats as the filming has progressed. They are losing stunt men left and right, while Ford is still staying healthy, and fit. Yeah, he must be doing some of his own stunts this time too. I think they have lost the original main 3 stuntmen. Hence the extra hats I have had to make. When taking out the sweats did not work for some of the larger heads, I had to make larger hats, and there have been some that I had to make for the bosses. This of course, forces me to put the regular orders aside as I can't hold up film production. But, as of last week, I am back again full time on my regular orders, and I will start eating away at the lead time. Right now, I am on Oct orders from last year, but these will go fast as I had very few in Nov and Dec, so I should be down to 7 months here shortly. Then down to 6, then to 5. I should maintain the 5 months until March, and then be down to 3, which isn't bad for a handmade hat. The price increase will drop my orders for sure, which should then keep my times really decent. Good. I want to make less hats this next year, and I am really hoping the price increase will slow all of this down. Fedora

Beautiful hat Indy89. Other than the initials stamped in there did you ask Steve for anything special?
