Got my NEW Expedition (Now With Pics Added)

ok, my GB expo came today in the mail (which was a lot earlier than I expected), and I'm pretty happy about it overall. Honestly, when I first put the jacket on, it felt weird.. it just took me a few minutes to get used to the gussets and the feeling of the side straps on my waist. As I think I stated somewhere before, one of the side straps is positioned a bit higher than the other one, and even though it's a lot more noticeable than they told me on the phone, I'm convinced you can't notice it while the jacket is actually on.

going with a 42 even though I'm a 44 was the way to go for sure.. but I think it's clear I needed a tall. the salesperson I spoke with said he thought the sleeves on this jacket were already a tall size, and they're definitely not. they only fall maybe an inch or so past my wrist when standing and that's the hang up right now. I remember reading a post somewhere of someone who wet their sleeves and then sat with his arms bent holding them out while they dried to stretch them a bit. would this actually work? the jacket is goat, and another inch or so in the sleeves would make it perfect. not to mention that if I return the jacket, I'm not gonna have one for halloween.

will they take an exchange on a clearance item more than a month from now?

well, I emailed the lady in charge of clearance items, and explained that if I was going to go with a new FS jacket, I'd need to be able to keep this one at least until past halloween and then do the exchange, which would put me two weeks out of my return policy. unless they have a 42T sitting around they can send me. otherwise, I'm going to return it and order a USWings, I suppose...

anyway, here are some pics.. maybe you can tell me how much it doesn't fit.

In this one you can't tell, but the jacket does fall about 2 inches below my belt line.. which is where I think I remember it's supposed to be.

and this is where I really think it shows I have a problem.. and no, I don't know why it looks like I dipped my hand in mustard.

honestly though.. the jacket looks almost exactly the way whiskyman's HH does (as far as when I stand the same way he does in the pics he posted), and everyone says it looks great on him.

I guess I'll wait to see what the folks at GB say, and then I'll figure it out.

also, I'm sure this is blasphemous to even THINK about, but what exactly is the story with this.... http://www.leatherattractions.com/india ... jacket.htm

YES, stay clear of Leather Attractions. The jackets are craptola to say the least from all accounts ever posted here and they are rip-off artists. Many people here have written them telling them that they have a Wested pictured on their site and never once a reply. What does it tell you if they have a pic of another vendors jacket on their site and can't even post their own?
I'd take Pattersons advice and send the G&B back for your 44.

The jacket is too short, unless you're Paris Hilton and you want to show your midriff... Do what you want, of course, but I've seen it too often:
I have this jacket in-hand and I don't want to not have one so I'll make excuses telling myself this one fits...
Then later you'll get one that does fit and what will you do with this one? Sell it for $100 on eBay? I know where you're coming from - like the girl in the bar that you know only looks good because it is 2:45 and you've burned through a c-note worth of tequila... There's another c-note worth of antibiotics in your future, and she might remember your name and number... Walk away!
LOL. well yeah, that's EXACTLY what I'm doing.. I don't want the USWings one, but I know I can't get a proper GB in time. So yeah.. I'm trying to justify it. I figure I'll probably keep telling myself it looks good until the people at GB get back to me. and as far as the other guy goes.. yeah, I figured it was @#$%, but for only $128, I wouldnt be expecting a wested.

Halloween is still over a full month away. You can't get a new 44 by then? How long is the wait supposed to be?

well, if I ordered it today, they could have a new one done by the 16th. I really need it by the 20th, as thats when the halloween parties start. the dates kinda work out well.. I wont have the jacket long enough to distress it, but I'll have it regardless. however, I'd have to order it today, which means I can't send back the jacket I have now and get the credit for it. and honestly, with the $320 I shelled out a few days ago for one of gus' whips and a belt & holster, I really don't want to spend the $420 up front to order a new jacket without getting the credit on the one I already have.

and yeah.. I read the posts about the leather attractions @#$%. not considering it anymore.

well, I'm not terribly happy about it, but yeah.. the jacket does not fit. I've had everyone and their mother tell me today "hey, nice jacket.. but it looks a little small". so it's going to be a 42T for me. I'm calling tomorrow and placing the order. if they can get it to me in time, I'll send back the short one, but if it's not gonna make it, I'll use this one for the month.

You must be talking from experience, _. Seriously though...I hope none of these types of women show up in the jacket history re-write. Though...it might explain this jacket shot....

well, I woke up this morning and stepped outside to find two brown packages. in one of them was my brand new dark-seal goatskin expedition jacket, custom made in the proper 42 Tall!! the other box was a big tub of pecards.

I want to say that Gibson and Barnes got my jacket out to me amazingly fast.. I placed the actual order in the beginning of october, and they finished it within a week. it's in the drier right now, and I'm half asleep, so I'll post pics later. right now I'm going to take the pecards and my whip and go have a cigarette.
