new pair of whips

I know this is the bullwhip forum, but I just finished this pair of stockwhips and I wanted to post a picture of them. They are 3 1/2 ft 8-plait kangaroo with 12-plait handles. These whips may be small, but it seemed to take forever to finish these little buggers.
I've got one more kangaroo whip on my list of orders to finish before I can get to cranking out more IOAB whips.

PS: I'll be at the Spirit of the West Festival in Sioux Falls, SD, this weekend, for anyone who might be in the area.

Like the whips. For some reason, these stockwhips really scream "FAST!" Nice work. Hope to see more in the future!

Yup, these little guys are fast. I think once they're broken in they'll be really sweet.
I'll be taking some time in October to make a stockwhip for the Glen Innes whip making competition in Australia, and I'll be sure to post pictures of that one. I'll be at the competition in person, and I'm hoping to get to meet some of the legends of Australian whip cracking and making while I'm there.

Speaking of pairs of whips, are the latest pairs workin' alright for you?

Hey Chris,
Yup, the two new pairs of whips I got from you are working well.
I did a show a couple of weeks ago and used the new pair of 3 1/2 ft nylon whips to demonstrate how many cracks I could do in a minute with a whip in each hand (after having established the initial record at 420), and I think I did about 430 with your pair of whips.
With the double whip record, I've had a few people contact me about it. Since any whip is allowed for the attempt, some people have told me that they can do about 600 cracks in a minute. One person was using 3 ft mini-bullwhips.

Glad to hear that the new whips are workin' well for you, Adam....
Whoa....600 cracks in a minute - that's insane....Any idea what the specs were on that guy's mini-bullwhips?

-Chris

Very Nice looking pair of stockwhips Adam, I like the grapevine pattern you put in the keeper binding. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the Glen Innes competition too.

Herr Jones,
The handles are 3/8" fiberglass wrapped with paper to build the taper.

Hey Adam,
The pair looks great! Did you keep them for yourself, or were they for an order?
