Anybody got some great stories of the amazing customer service there? :D I'm one happy camper right now.

A few weeks ago I noticed a thread coming loose on my shoe, and I wanted it fixed before there were too many replies - I mean too much damage - and I also asked if my shoe's tongue could be stitched in place. They replied and said send 'em on in and they'd fix 'em for free! So I sent my shoes and didn't hear back for a while. Then I inquired about them and recieved a very nice reply which made me feel reassured and a little special (they didn't use my first name - they said in the email, "Good morning, Mr. Smith"). Then I got them back today, and not only was the stitch fixed, but BOTH tongues were sewn in (over original stitches, like I asked) and they even were a little polished and smelled brand new! I can tell they're not different shoes because I can vaguely see scuff marks I made, but it looks like they polished them. Not to mention, they send free extra shoe laces and will replace more for free if they break.

What an awesome company, with GREAT customer service. I can't recommend these people enough. They really treat you like you're #1 - which is good, considering they sell $300 shoes. But as we learned with HJ, sometimes people who sell expensive things can just be kind of snooty with customers.

Shane

I've always had great luck and service dealing with the Alden shop in Washington, DC. They've always been helpful and friendly and never once rolled their eyes or got snooty when the Indiana Jones connection was brought up. They consider their Indy fans just as valuable as all their other customers. In fact, I've had such trouble finding long, flat laces for my black cap toe 502 Aldens that they specially ordered a slew of the black laces and mailed me a couple pair of laces free of charge. I love the customer service as much as I love the shoes!

In Aldens,

bink

Aldens is truely a geat company to deal with. Back when I got my A405's they accidently sent me the wrong size. I called them up and had the correct pair the next day, before the other pair was even in teh back back to them. Talk about service! This was the San Francisco store BTW.

I wasn't so enthusiastic about their customer service from San Francisco but the shoes are good

Shane, did you buy your shoes at the SF store? I wonder if they would provide similar service to those who bought their shoes not at their store.

I did buy them at the SF store, but online. However, they were also the ones I emailed when I wanted to get my shoe repaired. So I'm sure if you emailed them for help, they'd be just as nice.

I am very pleased with the Alden customer service (SF is the primary store I’ve dealt with.) When I got my 405’s one of the eyelets had a burr and shredded my lace as I first laced them up. I contacted them and they told me to send them back. I didn’t want to wait for the passing of time and was given the option of having some eyelets sent to me. The choice was mine, send them back or have eyelets sent to me. I chose the latter, and when I received it there were a few eyelets along with a new set of laces.

I have an extremly big foot and was really let down the first time i called the Alden Company to order my boots. They first told me that they did not have one that would fit me when i told them my shoe size (I typically wear a 14 or 15 depending on the shoe). Well after a short disscussion I found that although they did not have the shoe in stock they could in fact have a 14D made. I wasnt sure if that would fit but they told me that even though they normally do not accept returns on speacial orders that they would if the shoe ended up not fitting. Needless to say it was well worth the wait. The Aldens fit perfect and are now a part of my daily wardrobe at work.
