Hi,
Is it possible that Mk-VII's and MK-VI's were used in the IJ trilogy?
(this could have been asked before but I wasn't sure)

quote:You are bidding on a genuine WW2 MK VI (mark six) British Gas Mask Bag the same as those used in the Indiana Jones films along with the MK VII.

I read this in an auction and got confused :? ....
What do you think...

I have heard the close-up shot of the stones burning through the bag in ToD is a MK VI. I haven't looked into it but I can grab the tape and check.

I noticed that the bag in ToD that the stones burned through had three drain holes in it. I didn't think either the MK-6 or 7 had 3 holes. mmm.....

I too just watched the Temple of Doom, and it looked like I saw the "D" rings on its side before it burst into flames.

However, I'm sure that the MKV I bags may have been used by the stuntmen since the the MKV II n' MKV I bags look so similar to one another. I suppose its like the "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee car. They mostly used 1969 Dodge Chargers, but every so often they would use the 1968 and 1970 Dodge Chargers in many scenes, including the stunt and close up scenes because they look so much alike. But then again, perhaps in 1981, the MKV II bags were plentiful and Hollywood figured that they would use just the MKV II bags in every scene, including the stuntmen, so I dunno.....but its interesting indeed!

Hey there Indiana James!

O yea, I loved the "Dukes" since I was 5 years old and I watched every show when they were playing them on the TNN station!

My dad had a few Dodge Chargers: a 1968 Charger and a 1969 with a 440 Big Block Engine. She was a beauty, and fast as *&^%, lol. There was a fella up the street where I live who used to have an old 1970 Charger sitting in his back yard. I thought that I would fix her up some, like the General Lee, but the guy sold it before I could actually go over and ask him about it, arggg!
Regards!

...you should load up the car, hook up to a trailer, and come down South on a car hunt. You'll find these old Chargers sitting in junk yards and sitting on blocks all OVER the State of Tennessee, I know where two are sitting just minutes from where I'm sitting. They're still out there, and in restorable condition! Regards. Michaelson

supposed to be a '69 charger with a 428 hemi. originally black but bought in a junk yard wrecked and the only color Cooter had enough of on hand to paint the car was "sunset orange". Actually 177 '68 to '71 Dodge chargers with many varying setups.

Hey that sounds good Michaelson!

Ahhh, Tennessee here I come...a great place that is rich in history, a beautiful state, and a great place to search for the Chargers!

Yea! I do remember that episode off the Dukes. If I remember correctly, it was a get-a-way vehicle for some modern day Bonnie and Clydes who stole some gold dust. They wrecked the charger on its fron right side and it got towed away and the Duke Boys were looking for a fast vehicle to race n' all, and the rest is history! :D

Good deal Michaelson, I heard somewhere they used something like 350 chargers during the whole show.....

Cheers!

(Sorry this is getting of topic)

Hey!

Yea I think I read somewhere (theres alot of good info off the internet here about the Dukes  ) and I think I read that they would even make the stunt cars fully loaded even down to the smallest detail just for everything to be "accurate"! And somewhere using up to 3 or 4 cars per episode! Amazing stuff! I just wish Daisy and Enos had gotten married during the Dukes reunion! But Anyway...... :D

In interior shots the cars interior is tan. in many stunt shots you can see a black interior in the car.
