Club Obi Wan

I just finished this whip and I liked the way it turned out. It's made from kip that I got from Bernardo. It's 8 ft, 12-plait, with core, 2-plaited bellies and two bolsters. It's on its way to North Carolina.

I posted on my website that I've decided to only take orders for IOAB whips for a while, at least until I get caught up on my current list of orders. If this year is like last year, I'll spend most of October making IOAB whips for those who want to dress up like Indy for Halloween.

PS: You can find my picture on page 261 of the 2008 Guinness Book of World Records. I now actually hold 4 records, the 4th being for most whip cracks in a minute with a whip in each hand.

How does the kip compare to veg-tan cow?

Herr Jones,

The leather from Bernardo is tougher than American veg-tanned cow. I asked a tanner about this leather, and he said that it was under-tanned, so it still retains some of the strength of rawhide. I guess if you over-tan leather, it becomes really soft, and can be weaker.

If you need to see me, can't you just pop in that video you made of me after Claremore (insert emoticon here). I'm not sure if my whipcracking has got any better since then, but I have been working on my show/performance skills a lot. I think you'd really enjoy some of the performers I've been meeting though the renaissance fairs. Some of them are heavily influenced by Vaudeville.

This week I'm going to try to put together an audition video for Cirque du Soleil. I'm not sure if I'd be something they could use, but friends of mine have told me I should at least send 'Cirque' something.

After seeing this bullwhip, I had to check out your website.

Sir, what you do with leather is a compliment to the animals of which the leather comes from. I bet if they knew what they are going to be made into, the kangaroos, cows and deer would line up to be turned into whips.
