Cast under £50 and fully lined Stone Washed Denim in Seal Brown to replace the cotton jacket. Would like opinions.

PERFECT!!!!!!!

My biggest complaint with the cotton twill you currently use is that the color fades over time and use. Other than that, it's the jacket that gets the most use of my group of jackets...up until the weather turns really cold.

This looks like something that will FINALLY fill the bill of a jacket that can be used on the road, and wash and wear!!

I'd like to get in line for one.

Have you thought of using the waxed "oilskin" cotton fabric? I think that would also work well.

I like the look of this, the slim looking sleeve and the high looking arm hole. And especially the proportions of the pocket . Now if the flap were just a 1/2 inch deeper and silightly more rounded in the middle.

Although I am with Vito on this one, when it's too warm to wear the lambkskin I'm not sure I really need a jacket at all. But I will probably be tempted anyway!

To folks like KT and Vito who live in England, I can understand the reluctance of choosing between a denim or leather jacket when the weather isn't something that's a factor. It's either cold, or hot anywhere you go....but bear in mind, in a country the size of the U.S. , you could board a plane in NYC wearing a leather jacket with a layered sweater underneath, then climb out in a place like Phoenix a few hours later and wish you had only a tee shirt in your luggage. The temperature extremes in this country are that radical due to it's size and elevations.

Something like this jacket that would be wash and wear and easy to shove in a bag, and thrown in a washing machine on the road, is something I'm constantly asked about via PM and email by folks who are on the road all the time. As much as they love a leather jacket, sometimes it's the style they're wanting, something that will stand wear on the road, but most importantly, can be CLEANED easily.

This is a project I've asked Peter to look into for years, and he came close with the cloth cotton twill jacket....but unfortunately the 'dry clean only' situation pretty much curbed the interest of the travelers.

This one could fill the bill VERY nicely. Indy styling by Wested, but in a material that can be taken care of when away from home. VERY nice!!!

Good point. I was never a big fan of the cord collar either.

This would be my reason for wanting a jacket such as this in denim. Sometimes you need a good work jacket that you don't mind getting a bit of dirt or sweat on because you can clean it afterward. Leather is fine but only up to a certain point. I certainly wouldn't go fishing in my current Wested.

Part of me wouldn't mind this jacket having no liner at all (like standard Levi jean jackets) if the denim was strong and durable. That way you know you could toss it in the washer almost indefinitely.

That looks great, Peter, and the price looks to be very good as well.

A denim Indy Jacket would be a very welcome addition to my wardrobe. It would be perfect for those fall and spring days that are still cool, but not cool enough for a goatskin jacket.

Another advantage to a denim jacket would be the durability. The one thing I and seriously worried about when wearing my leather Wested is snagging it on something. I do a lot of work with tools and in barns where there is a possiblility of getting a slit in the leather. This would be the perfect solution to this problem of mine. Even if the denim gets a small tear in it, the hole could be quickly and easily stitched up.

When do you think these will be avalible, Peter? I would like to have one to wear this fall so please keep us posted on the progress. I will be one of the first to order one of these jackets!

I assume this would only be a "production" jacket (standard sizes). If there would be sleeve length options, then, I am on board.

The jackets are now in production based on the ROLA pattern but TOD length. Ready in 2/3 weeks standard sizes, but with extra lengths on request. Sizes 38- 52.

Nice jacket Peter. I used to ware a blue denim in the 80's and wished then I could find a brown one, top that with the Raiders cut and hot darn you have a winner. It'll tide me over till I order my lamb..
