Hi all, I was wondering what the current price for new Aldens are. My cobbler just quoted $300.00 and because theres no need for fitting (I have a pair) he said he'd give me 15% off, which brings them to $255.00.
The lead time is 12 weeks, which is ok since there'll be no rush, these are back up's. The price for Aldens are not going down.
So I was wondering is this a good price or are some of you getting prices for less.
Just wondering, I'm having mine resoled at the moment, they've been every where, love these shoes/work boots.
I think that sounds like a fair price, Croft. I believe I paid anywhere between $250-$275 for each pair of Aldens I have, and that was a couple years ago.
i believe i was quoted the normal $290 usd price for them around march. the website shows they area at $300 now. if you can get them for $255, i'd jump on it but why the long lead time? is your size not available?
anyways, my shoes were quoted with at least an 18 week to 6 month delivery (i should have them in the fall)........but i asked for some customizations.
i was told that alden's delivery time is fixed so i don't know why he quoted you a faster turnaround
Yea, mine are currently out of stock, but like I said, my current Aldens have plenty of mileage left in them, heck these might be come my dress Aldens.
Let's see, I have a dress Fedora (my AB rabbit)
I have a dress jaket (my Todd lamb)
Now it looks like a pair of dress shoe's to go along, but I'll have to see if he does layaway, I've invested alot in gear recetly. New Jacket, an AB on order, also layaway, my Gobler idol which should be shipped out soon.
Where is that money tree, hmmmmm.
they cost me 310, thats with tax and everything about 2 years ago.
I love mine. Its just about time to get them resoled/heeled and I'm
worried about the idea of having them get cut apart like that for new
soles. Though I did buy replacement parts from Alden and the
heels only cost 14$ shipped.
Shane,
That blows!
What was wrong with them?
Mine have some loose stitching here and
there but nothing that effects the way the boot
works. Call up the factory and beat them with a stick!
Adam, I had a local cobbler replace the heel and front half-sole of my 502 Aldens recently and he did an incredible job! You almost can't tell it's a half-sole job because he blended it so well. A talented and well-experienced cobbler can really do the job right, so if you find a good cobbler, trust him!
I wanted them to fix the stitching and possibly stitch the tongue in place. There aren't any cobblers in my area, and it's free with Alden Co. so I figured why not? I've emailed them.
Well I haven't looked at all, but it's safer to assume something and be right than assume something, then look, and find out you're wrong. I just took the 'free' route, and thought I'd send my shoes to people who not only know the shoe best, but could give me a new free pair if they lose or destroy them.
When I was in San Francisco this weekend the sales price on the floor was 325.00 I was surprised that they moved from the corner of Kearny St. They are on Sutter St. now.
