The pictures look consistent. Good going.

Yeah, I can imagine its much harder if you need to be in the pictures too. I don't have a remote trigger at the moment, so I think I will have to get someone else to push the button.

Yeah the difficulty to getting the ligth right in my living room a practical impossibility. I think for a first try it wasn't to bad.

Heh, sorry... First thing that came to mind when I saw that picture ;)

But that is really impressive! Really gives us a good idea of what an AB should (and does) look like! Seeing how awesome it looks on ya, I'm even more psyched about mine! ;)

Maybe someone else will post theirs in the same way....I've learnt a few things about trying to take your own pics.

I've actually grown to like my profile.

I'm thinking that for mine, I'll connect my camera up to my laptop, which has Nikon Capture on it. I'll tell the camera to take a picture evey 3 seconds, and then let it do that as I turn slowly around. It will save me having to move from the spot at all.

There's an even better idea. Record it on a video camera, and import it into a gif program such as Ulead Gif animator, PSP animation shop and export to gif. The shot woudl then be seamless.

I wonder, my old D Cam has video....

Next time try using the manual settings, that way you get exactly the same lighting in all of the pics.

Indeed, that was mentioned in the tutorial thing I wrote here. Anybody else interested in doing one can find most of the information they need there, and if there is anything missing, PM me and I'll update it.

Not if clouds are passing by your window, blocking the sun momentarily which is the case here...for consistent lighting you need not be near a window. This has nothing to do with manual settings in this case, and how on earth you can manually set this and take the photo is a mystery to me...

You should set that has your avatar.

I'm afraid it would use too much bandwidth on the servers, so it's a no go.

But I did take one of the pics and made it my avatar.

Right. You need to be using a consistent light source of some kind. Overcast days work well, and we are having a few of those this week. Alternatively, pull the curtains and use indoor lighting.

Yes, this would be tricky. Indoor lights are probably your best bet. Alterntively, you could set your aperture narrow and shutter fast (to ignore the outside lighting changes) and just use your flashgun, in TTL, bounced off the ceiling. It'll need to be pretty bright, so you might end up draining the batteries pretty quick, but with it pointing up it shouldn't wreck your eyes, and will give a natural soft look to the light.

Funny you should say that I did bounce my flashgun off the ceiling....must be having an off day.

Not at all. As I said, I think the animation is perfectly servicable. :)

Well I had another go at it... well okay 3 shots lol. Although the 1st frame changes light conditions the other 2 remain consistent. Odd, but practice makes perfect.

I actually think my shirt is reflecting light back onto the wall from the window, as I turn there is less surface area to reflect light.
