Club Obi Wan

A few weeks ago I posted a whip that I had made and it had a "twisted seam"...well after working hard on fixing that (thanks bullwhipborton!) I've made a better looking whip!



This is a 7 foot 2 inch whip with a 10 inch handle. I'm going out in a few minutes to give it some cracks. You can see more pics of this on my blog www.bullwhips.org

Your whips are coming along nicely. This for fun? Plan to sell them eventually once you get super good (not that you already are) But I've noticed you make mostly shorter whips with no wrist loop? Personal preference? Just wondering.

The whips I make are usually 4 or 6 foot because that's what I normally use. I did recently get an 8 foot Terry Jacka whip (pictured below) and having a lot of fun with that whip.

I don't normally put on the wrist loop because I don't like them, they get in the way while cracking (in my opinon). I cut off the loop on the jacka...but left the loop on my morgan.

I find making whips a challenge and at the same time relaxing. I sell what I make on ebay. Each whip is better than the previous (in most cases) and I want to keep them all, but due to space limitation and roo being expensive, I have to sell them to pay for more hides and to keep learning.

Louie, Looks good. Glad I was able to be able to help, keep up the good work!

I Like the Jacka bullwhip a lot too, I have a couple of those 8fts. They are very nice whips, some of my favorites, a lot of fun to use. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I made a little change to the 7 foot whip. I took off the fall that it had and added a heavier one...and gave it a coat of shellac so now it's all pretty.
