"The Shadow" Fedora

Hello,
This has probably come up before, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea where I could find a pretty accurate fedora for "The Shadow". I was thinking of trying this out for Halloween and it shouldn't be that difficult. I am not sure about crown height, but I know that it has a pretty wide brim.
Thanks!

I met a Shadow at Comic Con that had a great one. I exchanged contact info with a friend of his and I'll see where he got it. I do have the contact info for the man who made Alec Baldwin's, but he isn't interested in making them right now... I've tried already.

Well, one thing's for sure... With a brim like that, even people used to seeing fedoras are gonna NOTICE you!

Looks like you could make one by putting a fedora style ribbon on a rebashed cowboy hat. Looks rather like my Black Snowy River.

Hey, sorta looks like one of my lids-except for the color and ribbon.
Mods, please shrink this if it is too large

You know, when I first saw Batman Begins, I didn't really care for it... I didn't know what it was, but everything seemed so familiar. I figured it was because it was another Batman movie, but looking back, I guess parts of Batman Begins felt like it had 'borrowed' liberally from The Shadow!
Then again, that shouldn't be too much of a surprise, seeing as how The Shadow was Batman's predecessor...
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows... Muahahahahaha!

The hat I've always liked for The Shadow used to be sold at The Village Hat Shop when I worked there. I thought just a quick ribbon change, and I'd be down to wear that hat with the costume. It's the Golden Gate 5th Avenue fedora. It's not a bad hat for what you're looking for, and honestly, unless you search for a long time, you're probably going to have to have a custom hat made for the occasion.

Come to think of it, Baron Hats may have something along those lines.
I think Floatin' Joe met the same Shadow I met that was hanging out with The Rocketeer.
Dude...you know who I'd bet dimes to dollars would be able to make you a good fedora for The Shadow?
Jimmy Pierce!

Baron Hats also does 'The Monster Hunter Hat' from Van Helsing. It might work well for this...I have considered it before for the same idea as you have as a costume. Pricey but cool! Also I found a costumer that has some that are quite cheap..good enought for a costume, I am just not certain if the brim is quite large enough. Link:
www.acewigs.com/shop/wigs/Hats/25174.php ...I will keeping searching the net for you. W>
...oh, if you decide to go with Baron...give them plenty of lead time, as they can take a while to get. I would call Mark at Baron and talk to him directlly if you wish to go that route. W>

I can't find a hat for The Shadow on the Baron Hats site. Can anyone link to it? It just kind of clicked and made sense to me that Baron would have something like that.

I don't think you can buy a "Shadow" persay but you have to buy a customized version made after it at Barons Hats.

Josh, I believe you're right. I think it was a custom hat. Mike

Well, Mike, since your question has been answered, and since this isn't really an Indy related hat, I'm going to close this thread down now. I'll leave the thread up, though, so if anyone else does find another good option for our friend here, feel free to pass along that info in a PM to michaelb.
