Hello everyone, I am looking for a shirt that works as a sub. I almost bought an, err... well lets just say a certain one that is found of those with a larger girth. I decided against it per everyone’s numerous posts in the forums after my search. Now I am lost, what is a good sub for under $60.

I am not a man of unlimited wages, and I need a shirt in the next month for a trip I am going on? Any suggestions? Any new links? PM me,... AM me.... I'd even take a Pan Am me. Just something. Thanks.

Erin, if you want a shirt that may be broken in already, I'd check out some good thrift stores or even army surplus shops. I found my favorite close-enough shirt (which is an old military shirt that resembles the L.L. Bean offering, I think) for a single dollar secondhand. You never know what you'll find! The Cabelas shirt is nice, though a bit heavier in material. It'll hold up well, though.

I second Ripper's recommendation. The Cabela's shirt has a great look and is a high quality shirt for the money. It comes in long and short sleeve versions, and Stone is a nice color. I have a bunch of these.

I like the LL Bean shirt. It's really durable and a great fabric. I may even have one for sale in the Cairo Bazaar section...

I don't think I can shrink that much.

can't talk about that shirt, but everything else I have bought from Cabela's has been good product at a better price

WPG or Todds They are bothe that same shirt, just depends wich store you want to buy it from.(Wich ever one is coser means cheaper shipping todd is out of california)

WPG is out of California as well.

I've tried on one of the Cabelas shirts and they are a nice product as well. All the other items (guns, etc) I have purchased from Cabelas have been pretty good too. Can't really say you would go wrong purchasing from them.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to veer away from the WPG because I've read that it's a rather large shirt. Now I wear XL, but I'm not as full as they say the shirt is.

I'm seriously thinking about the Cabelas shirt but I'm going to be in Florida next month wearing the outfit. I'm sure if its as thick as everyone says it is, I'll be looking like Indy on the bridge sans make-up.

I've noticed that most police officer/park ranger shirts are virtually the same shirt minus the lines on the front. Has anyone bought that type of shirt?

Admittedly, I've thought about picking up a couple of the uniform shirts you're describing. If you or someone you know are handy with a sewing machine and can add the front pleats yourself, it'd be a relatively inexpensive way to get a decent close-enough shirt.

I did a search on eBay under khaki tactical shirt and got a few contenders.

Erin, I don't think you want to go with the police shirts. Most are either polyester or a wool blend and are hot. ( I sppeak from experience).

the cabelas IS a warm shirt, agreed, due to it's Poly-blend...but I WILL say this, here in Ottawa, where the past week has been 40 Celsius (low hundreds F) I wear the Cabelas, but I wear it untucked, and I find it to be ok. Just remember that the Cabelas does order a bit on the large size, too, as I normally wear a XXL, and wear an XL in Cabelas. But I wear mine at least once a week, regularly, year 'round (gets to be -30's here, too, so the thick material helps)

Hey, everyone thanks for the suggestions. I’ve been doing a lot of browsing, off your suggestions, to find a suitable shirt and I was getting a little disgruntled. Well, my wife said it would happen and it did. She kept telling me over and over again to wait, I'm a rather impatient guy so it was killing me. Again, she was right...again. I'll never admit that to her.

This afternoon I was at the local mall, from the ideas you all gave me, and I went to the Bass Pro Shop looking for a tactical hunting shirt. I was in there no more than 5 minutes and I found probably the best-looking Indy shirt imaginable, IMO. It’s made by Grammici and it has it all. Let me know what you all think.

Yeah, I like it because it's so thin. I'm ordering a Magnoli this fall but we're going to Disney World the first week of October and I'm wearing this to their Halloween Party. I was so close to buying the Cabela's but this has pleats, 100% cotton ...and its thin, the two things I wanted.

Seriously though, is it just me, or do you think ALOT of clothing manufacturers are starting to get 'inspired' by Indy's gear, due to the new movie coming out?

Well, the Old Navy close enough shirts had a small pleat down the center, and they were on the shelves last summer, long before IndyIV was a reality. Safari-type shirts have been in and out of vouge over the years, though I think we'll see them come back in force with IndyIV.

I don't mind at all.

It was $32.57 with tax.

That's why I think this was such a great find.

Erin, was that the Bass pro in sevierville? I love that place. I was in there just last week.

No, 4 hours west my friend, it was in Nashville at the Opry Mills outlet.

Oh, I think it is my goal in life to visit every bass pro there is. Anyway I have a picture from the one in sevierville with the moose wearing my PB. Might have looked better on him than me.

Great looking shirt by the way. You definitely want thin and cool. Still good and hot even in October.

October's probably not all that hot in Orlando. It'll feel great during the day, with maybe a SLIGHT chill at night. (what we southerners consider a chill, anyway ) The shirt will work great, regardless. I'm gonna have to check out my Bass Pro shop. Thanks for letting us know, Erin.

good find! Don't you just love Opry Mills? I go there about every 3 months or so. It's a great place to shop, and now I can get an Indy shirt there

If you're planning on going anytime soon, I would highly suggest this weekend if you want the shirt. They only had 1 XL left but a few LGs. There marked down right now, I think they're discontinuing the shirt there.

I just got a Wested one and it was $112. I was looking for something less expensive but it is a good shirt. I had one before but somehow lost it.
