Band Color???

I have had my HJ fedora for a while now and one thing that always bothered me was that the color of the band and the color of the hat seem to be almost the same. When i look at the hats most people post and the ones that ford wears there seems to be much more contrast between the band and hat. Is it me or...
Pics of my HJ on me....well except the last one...

I think it looks fine, if you really don't like the band switch it out for a traditional black band.

The second pic reminds me of a LC fed minus the tight pinch. Nice hat!

The last pic looks like the correct color match... Maybe it's just the lighting at different times...

the commonly accepted ribbon is an extremely dark brown....i've heard it been called a nigerian brown. against a sable colored felt, it will look black but indeed it is brown.
i am assuming that your hj is the swaine adney brigg (sab) offering as the ribbon that comes with that is indeed lighter than whats seen on the screen. todd's hj offering has the correct ribbon in place (for tod/lc).
switching out the ribbon is not too difficult if it bothers you. i believe swindiana changed his out on his akubra and it looked awesome.
cheers

Second picture, though, I really like the pinch. I think someone already said that.

I think that's a great looking hat! I wouldn't change a thing!

Thanks for all the compliments...all in all i am happy with the hat. I have really just been trying to get some character ground into it now. It fits perfect and i like how the hat has kinda taken on its own personality since i have stopped being "careful" with it. Like i said though...the band has always just thrown me off because i typically think of the hats worn on screen with a much darker band. In regaurds to the pinch it did in fact have a very tight pinch when i first got it...however, i have worn it so much since i got it that the pinch has become somewhat less dominant then it use to be (if that makes any sense). It has gone from almost a crease to being rounded off. Anyway, again thanks for the comments and if there are more oppinions out there keep em commin.

I meant from a traditional dress Fedora look, not an Indiana Jones Fedora. Indiana G is correct though, if you want to keep it Indy styled, go for a dark brown ribbon. Steve and Marc seem to have the correct brown ribbon color on their hats. I'm sure they could help if you contacted them.

Well, let me add to the compliments. It really does look good, and I'm not a fan of the HJ's so much. If you want the pinch back, just show it who's boss! The HJ is known for letting go of the Raiders shape, so you have to remind it once in a while!
I know how the ribbon thing can be. It's the only peeve I have with my Federations. One day, I'll replace them with something darker.
