Official WDW Indy Jacket?

While at WDW during Spring Break, I saw a couple of their 'official' Indy Jackets that they had outside the stunt spectacular...
Can anyone tell me if they are serious?
I mean... for starters, I seem to remember that the jackets had those ribbed cloth cuffs and waistband. They also had side entry pockets only, and to top it all off, a nice 'Indiana Jones' patch on the chest. (Correct me if I'm off on the details since this was over 3 months ago)
And the icing on the cake? I believe that half (if not all) the jackets were jet black.
Is this really the 'official' Indy jacket? I'd love to see Ford sporting one of these in Indy IV... He might as well pack a lunchbox and wear one of those hats with the little fans on them too.
But seriously, I would have thought that Disney's authentic jacket would look a little... well... less Planet-Hollywood-ish.
I mean, it's not like they can't make a decent replica. The Terminator jacket that I remember also seeing at T2:3D's store was pretty much spot on for what was seen on that 3-d 'experience'...

Castor, there have been gearheads in acurate gear who have gone to DisneyWorld who have heard the shop keepers there touting their wares as the "exact" stuff used in the movies, so take it for what it's worth.

Case in Point: Peter Botwright, as we all know, the man who MADE all the REAL jackets was in Disneyworld with us in California (Or is it land? I never know).
The owner of the shop tried to convince Peter that the jacket they had in the store was JUST LIKE the ones in the film, made by the same company from, gasp, the same leather and all. Peter played with him a little, until it was Strider I think who informed the vendor of the truth.
So yes, Disney = Grain of salt.
Cheers

When I was at WDW (Florida) this past December, the only worthwhile items were the T-shirts. And they only had Last Crusade ones in adult sizes. Very bogus to BS Peter, huh? The IJ show was pretty good though! Raider 57

i would have paid serious, serious money to be a fly on the wall for this conversation
it reminds me of the movie "the thomas crown" afair when there was a maintenance man in the way of pierce brosnan who's trying to get to his office....he politely gestures that he wants through and the maintenance guy is less than complaiscent to give him right of way. the building super pushes him out of the way and his remark is..."what?? its not like he owns the building...."
"as a matter of fact, he does!"
all right, back on topic....i believe the older jackets that disney use to carry back in the day (cooper jackets) were more accurate and from what i've heard, not a bad jacket all around. do a search and ye shall find

I remember back in 2002 when I went to Disneyworld, the jackets they offered didn't have cloth cuff bands and the color was dark-brown. I liked the map pattern lining the jacket had.

Heh, you gotta feel bad for that Disney employee...
That hardly surprises me, given how everything at WDW is built on the entire premise of 'dreams come true'. Doesn't the Great Movie Ride's 'tour guides' still maintain that the Casablanca scene's plane is the movie prop, despite obvious evidence to the contrary? Etc...
What I'm curious about is how come Wested isn't making Disney's Indy jackets, but then again, I'm sure that's probably a can of worms I should leave well enough alone!

In the last two years, I've visited both Disney World and Disneyland. I was disappointed in the gear selection at both. At Disney World, I remember seeing the gift shop selling western dusters, and no hats at all. Then at Disneyland last month, there was so much Pirates of the Caribbean @#$% all over the park, half of the Indy shop was pirates junk. That shop had a decent selection of the Disney hats, but not much else. I guess I should have waited until after the release of the new movie before going.

Davy - that's really interesting... I'd also like to see some pics. I wonder if Disney Sea gets supplied by different people than WDW and DL...
Actually, they must, but how can that be? It's all Disney.

I will try to get pics, but it may be a while until we go again. Had I been thinking I would have grabbed some pics then. I don't know how the other Disney Sea sites are, but across from the Indy ride is the outdoor adventure shop. They have all kinds of Myan and Aztec looking stuff along with Indy jackets, t-shirts, safari shirts and boots ( no, they do not look like Aldens).

Gosh...I dunno about the jackets at WDW, but back when I was in Europe the Indy jackets sold at Disneyland Paris were like the old Coopers. Some no-name European brand made them.

One of my favorite jackets is an old Cooper Indy (but in dark brown cotton). It was a Pepsi "Last Crusade" promotional jacket. I took the Pepsi patch off one of the pocket flaps and love the look of my cotton Indy.
I'm not sure about the current Disney Indy jackets because it's been awhile since I've gone.

Every time I've gone to Disneyland they have a different jacket available. Depends on who they get as suppliers, I guess. It probably wouldn't suprise me if one day they offered the Members Only version of Indy's jacket. One year they were selling the leather jacket you find over at Cabela's. The next year they were selling a kind of close repro of LC jacket. I bought one of those and it's been a good beater jacket and at a reasonable price. Which suprised me being Disneyland. IMHO, trying to find an offical exact replica of Indy's jacket at Disneyland (or any other "land", for that fact) is like trying to find Harrison Ford's actual autograph on ebay. It's within the realm of possibility, but not probability.

Good point, Jess...I'd bet on not being able to find it in Graceland, and I don't DARE stray into the Neverland Ranch...

They might have them at Neverland, just not in Adult sizes.

The only thing left of Ford after the CGI job is his jacket!
