Ok, ok. It's only a prototype that I got today, but I can't help but being VERY impressed on the care for detail in this replica. Granted, there are some minor errors, that will have to be taken care of yet (f. eks. the stitches on the bottons should be over cross instead of parallel, the stitch count needs to be round about 6 per cm instead of 3.5), but all in all, this is just great IMHO (I didn't make it, so I guess it's ok to say so). The material is the EXACT same as on the vintage MBA shirt. On the prototype of course it hasn't been dyed yet, but the weight, feel and density are identical! Even the stitching on the hem of the shirt was replicated spot on.

I'll make a list of the few changes I wanna have made and sent both shirts back. Hopefully I'll get a final quotation soon after, so I can offer them to anyone interested. I've talked to Steve and he'll take care of forwarding the shirts within the U.S., so I can send him a package full of shirts a time - which will cut the shipping costs per shirt down tremendouesly (once we get to that point).

Since I have to take 2200 yards of the textile, I'll offer a discounted "taking the plunge offer", for those helping me out to begin with.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

I'm not sure yet Mark I have a feeling that shortening the cuffs one mm and stuff like that will make my shirt maker re-calculate. But if it can't be offered for a fair price, I'll let it go.

Concerning this prototype, is it possible to have a close-up picture of the seaming-areas ? From my point of view, stitiching is the weak point of the current NH shirt. I would like to know if the bottom of your shirt looks like this : (MBA shirt, there is a kind of small "hem")

Well, I can't put anyone on the list currently anyway, so... I'll let you know, as soon as I know.

They'll be sized in S,M,L etc. I considered custom sizing, but it would really drive the price up, to where I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it to fellow gearheads.

Colorwise it'll be dyed to the exact same color as you see on that vintage MBA shirt in the pics. I haven't given too much thoughts on the tag yet, even though Steve had a nice idea, that I'll look into.

Looks really good. Nice work! Again, i'd go for one if the price is right. One of the on line thai tailors is having a go at a one off for me. I don't expect it will be particularly screen accurate as they're just working off some photos. Also the material won't be spot on like yours. A one off made to measure is costing me 80 dollars. If i went back for a second one that would be down to 60. Is that in the sort of right area?

I might be interested, what price range are we talking about here? I wear a size 43-17 dress shirt, am 188cms tall (6'2") and I have a 105cm chest (41.3"), would that put me in a size M or L shirt?

I agree with VP, my NH shirt (received a few days ago) has this kind of epaulets. Also, I don't know if anybody agree with me but IMHO, the NH shirt could be more form-fitting and closer to the body....

Looks great, Marc! My only comment is that it looks like the pockets might be just a LITTLE too high...other than that, it looks awesome. Oh, and depending on the price, I might be interested in the "discount take the plunge" offer. It really all depends on the money because I'm on a bit of a tight budget. :junior: -IJ

The shirt looks great but if you're going with the standard sizes the sleeves will probably be too short for many including me. Maybe make the sleeves a little longer than normal so that could be adjusted?

Make the sleeves longer? I'd say make them a hint shorter! I have the opposite problem, Kittlemeier. Most of the stanard sized shirts have sleeves which are too long for me. You must have ape arms to my T-Rex arms.

Just add the pen pocket. Looks good.

Makes sense to me: between Wested, Magnoli Clothiers and Noel Howard, Indy fans have their pick of screen accurate shirts. Trouble is, they all cost about $70. If Marc could make an SA shirt for $20-$30 less, the AB shirt would have a clear advantage.

Besides, Adventurebilt is known for three things: high quality, screen accuracy and reasonable price (relative to the cost of materials). I'm hoping they'll continue that trend with the Indy shirt. :junior: -IJ

I think as long as the quality is there that a custom made shirt for $70 is not bad at all. In fact, I don;t see it being cost prohibitive if it were any less. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for the 'proce' to be cheaper but I can't see it being any lower for a shirt not made in some factory in Tailand, a'al Wal-Mart. Perhaps Marc will prove me wrong but if not you won't find me complaining about it.

$70 was alot to me back then too but the bottom line is you get what you pay for. This is not a mass produced shirt...no off the rack. Time to start saving like I did.

So would most of us. But they don't have the pleats and/or epaulettes so if you want them you have to get a replica Indy shirt from one of our many vendors. Hence, you get what you pay for. I'm sure Marc will do whatever he can to keep the price as low as possible for all of us. Just keep in mind that if he doesn't make money he won't be making them for long. Takes money to make these to begin with and if he's not making money to get the material and get them made then we get no shirts.

Don't feel bad guys. I'm 34 and I still have to save to get some of this stuff. Hobbies are never cheap. Next year, the year of Indiana Jones, will be an expensive one for most of us.

Shoot, it will be expensive next year. Good thing my parents said they'd get me that Akubra for Christmas.

I'm need a SA shirt anyways and this would be my first. If the price is right i'm definatlly in. ($100 or less would be the right price for me so i'm pritty much in.)

My NH is really well fitted Nicolas. What sort of build are you? Get down the gym and put a bit more muscle on your shoulders and chest and see how the shirt fits then

djd, I'm 180 cm tall and I weigh 72kg. I'm clearly not obese but I'm not slim either. I think I'm in the avearge shape... The NH (size M) is perfect on the shoulder and a little tight on the neck, however it's too baggy around the waist. I've done a search and, apparently, Rick5150 and Agent5 share my opinion. Maybe we're only three on the forum to have a "Wasp waist"
