Did the Last Crusade Jacket Have Leather Facings?

Post by Castor Dioscuri »

I've been looking through the pics from LC, and I noticed something:

As noted in other threads, it has always been argued that the LC jackets were not lambskin as they looked too stiff, but is it possible that the reason for the stiffness is due to leather facings on the zipper?

I have two jackets, one without a facings, and one with. My jacket without facings drapes perfectly like a Raiders should, while my jacket with facings drapes alot like the 2nd picture, in that the straight, stiff facings flare outwards due to the tightness of the sidestraps.

So is is possible that because of inner facings, the movie LC jacket looks stiffer than normal?

Then the inside of the jacket must have been completly out of leather.
Just leather facings on the zipper won't make the hole jacket that much thicker.
I just think that the LC leather was just a different thicker lambskin as they had in Raiders and TOD. Without zipper facings you will have a good SA raiders demon roll.
The zipper on the LC jacket was maybe heavier. A heavier zipper will also change the drape of the front a bit IMO.

Much regards

The jacket doesn't look to have facings inside the zipper it also looks a lot like satin. Also watch the Charlemagne scene closely it sure flutters like lambskin there.
