I was at Walmart tonight and found a stack of these by accident. They were actually in the clothing section and not in the gardening section. Fact of the matter is, they had them in both a whitish color and a tan. Is there a preference out there as to which is more accurate? Also has anyone tried Pecards on these things?
On a side glove note, I thought that the gloves had the raised ribs on the back of the hand. Was I mistaken?

Most prefer the tan. Pecards works great on them. I have a pair of the whitish ones (thanks Michaelson) and with the Pecards they darkened up a bit. If it's leather I don't think you can go wrong with a little Pecards on it.

A few months ago my Wal-Mart was selling only the very lights ones and I got a pair. I wanted a color closer to tan so I put some Georgia red clay dirt on them and put some drops of water on them too. A little more clay dirt rubbed in and the color is now, well, it's closer to tan!

I was at Walmart tonight and found a stack of these by accident.
Awesome find! I did the same thing at K-Mart (between the automotive section and the hardware/tools section.) I bought three pairs of Medium
I go through gloves pretty quickly, but I found these distressed beautifully without Pecard's. I like the color and in the past have used everything from shoe polish to Minwax gel-stain to rubbing my hands in the dirt to acquire the color I was after.
I changed the appearance of the first pair using the Pecard's - they darkened too much for my liking.
The second time I grabbed a high-pressure hose that was on the dirty floor and moved a few oil drums. When I looked athe gloves, I said (to myself, lest people think I am crazy) "These look perfect!" The only "un-natural distressing I had to do was to rub the palms onto the back of each glove to make the backs look worn as well.
They have since replaced the display gloves I had...

I think you can still purchase the 1130's at doityourself.com in all sizes.
Last order I received was the "lighter" color, which is preferable to me since that color seems to be more accurate to the film and more receptive to various aging techniques. In addition, they tend to turn more yellow after use anyway. A couple of weekends of yard work and these appear very similar to the screen-used gloves.

I bought a three pack of Wells Lamont gloves at Costco a couple weeks ago. I don't have any idea what number they are. I just bought them because it was a good deal. They're yellow leather, have elastic at the wrists, has a palm patch, and three lines of "X's" on the back of the hand.

Is there a link for Doityourself.com for just the Wells?
