Wested Indy Shirt 2-1/2 month delivery delay?

Anyone ever have a problem in obtaining the Wested Indy Shirt from the company? I ordered mine in February along with the raiders jacket and pants, and while the jacket and pants were delivered after a month, I have yet to see my shirt. Gemma responded at the end of March it would be 21-28 days before more small shirts were ready. It's been well past that time and a follow-up email said they were looking into it. I'm pretty aggravated at this point since the shirt isn't exactly the cheapest one around. Is this typical of Wested?

From what I remember (and this is a good 2.5 years ago  ) they order batches when there are sufficient orders to make it worthwhile ordering a batch plus a few extra as stock (that's certainly the process their pants ordering process went)...I suppose you probably just hit them at the worst point, when the previous batch had run out and before they had enough orders to warrant ordering a new batch. I'm sure they'll sort it out though

Drop them another mail, I think they had a batch in a couple of weeks ago.

Hey, that's not very nice! Peter and his VERY small company have worked wonders for our hobby, when they started supplying the pants and shirt it was because Noel had ceased trading and no-one else offered them (apart from look-a-likes in department stores).

Ok some people (and a very limited number) have problems, but the amount of satisfied customers they have significantly outweighs them...it's a pity that in this electronic age those who aren't satisfied, even if a minority, shout louder than the majority who are... :(

I'm not saying that you don't deserve good customer service, but that doesn't mean that the majority of people don't get it - I've ordered 4 times and each time my delivery has been as requested and ahead of their estimated times. It was more your choice of name for them that I took offence at...

Wested Indy Shirt 2-1/2 month delivery delay?

The shirt actually arrived today! Though I didn't get the email, as promised from Wested, when the shirt was ready and delivery information I am still happy to have received it. Thanx for all the sympathy, guys! Now I just have to sit tight and wait for the AB beaver hat I ordered at the beginning of April to arrive! When I ordered the AB Steve made me aware it would be several months, but I am definitely happy that he gave me fair warning about delivery time before I placed the order!

I dont think we need to defend them, good grief, as I'm sure they do very well from COW and should have more respect for their customers
please correct me if i'm wrong, but i think if cow members stopped ordering from wested, they wouldn't even notice. its my impression that building indy jackets is just a "side item" to them and not their bread and butter. my $.02.

if what Indiana G is saying is true, what is thier B&B? I do think that if it was not for this site, they would be out few pounds more than they would like think about. Having said that, I have oredered a jacket and pants from Wested. Both items came in a timely manner and exactly as I asked. We expect a certan standard from bespoke clothing company. Granted Wested is not on Savile Row, but there should be better quality control as products leave the door.

Well that's a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Bring on the bureaucratic fools.

Both you issues could be attributed to your local post office. Broken buttons sorting guys stamping on 'fragile' parcels 'accidentally'.

If Wested sent you replacements, odds are they put them in a regular envelope (as his their habit). Postie in the sorting office thought "mmm little round objects, I'll have those." (thinking they are pills). Or the envelope got mangled in the machines.

I've had so much stuff go missing to my home address stolen in the post that I don't get anything of value sent to me at home any more, all goes to my work address.

Phew, quite horrible stories I must say. Though, my experience with Wested is quite good:

- Ordered a custom made LC jacket, which arrived after 5 or 6 weeks, perfect condition, perfect fit. There was a typo in my credit card details which could be solved easily (via email)

- Ordered the pants and the shirt via their ebay shop, no problems, arrived in a couple of days.

- Ordered a 2nd jacket (Raiders, off-the-rack), which arrived really fast but was too small for me so I sold it to a friend. I ordered the same jacket again in a bigger size, which arrived quickly and fits perfect.

Only problem ever with Wested was that I missed a shirt in one of the jacket deliveries, I complained, and 2 or 3 days later the shirt was there.

Is it gonna kill em to take two minutes to knock off an email reply to answer a few questions. Or when I ring them, to actually do what they said they would.
I absolutely fail to see why you are defending such poor service.
Gemma, Peter if you're seeing this can you please sort Vito out?

They make costumes for movies, especially those involving leather:

My own experience of Wested (one jacket and one shirt) was fine..... however, it is a pet hate of mine where companies advertise an email address and either never respond to emails or take an age to respond. If you don't want customers to talk to you by email- don't list an email address GRRRRRR

I have made several orders with Wested. They shipped two shirts, a pair of pants, and a jacket to me that came all the way to the US. They all arrived perfectly, having been packaged so well and with so much care that they were not even wrinkled.

My shirts came with Raiders buttons, and Wested put a complete set of Last Crusade buttons in an envelope in case I wanted to change them out. If buttons are the only issue that you have, seeing where you live, why don't you just stop by and pick up some?

My wife's just told me she's reported Wested to the Trading Standard Authority because of their awful service. Quite right too in my opinion. They've had since early February to respond to countless emails andI phonecalls and haven't seemed to care...
I have looked into this, obviousy we do not send out shirts with broken buttons as we do not want problems.
However if I am right we sent replacement buttons even though there is a spare on the shirt tail and when we were told those buttons we sent were all broken we sent a replacement shirt and that was back March.
So what is the problem?

As far as the gentleman whose shirt took 2.5 months that was because it was part of an order which had been sent earlier and marked completed,
when the shirt was outstanding. For this I apologise.
Cheers
Peter
