Not bad, but not quite era accurate. If you bash the front pinch more tight and turn the back of the crown a bit it would look perfect!

I think it looks fine. Not every hat had a tight pinch and dents back then. Heck, I rememebr a thread here where folks were arguing that Indy's tight pinch wasn't era-accurate!

Oh, I'm not critisizing you, Henry, it's just that there was a good deal of variation in how people wore their hats back then. Some wearers would bash their own hats just to get their own individual personality into them. Heck, some of us still do that today!

On the contrary, if you watch some of the early to mid 1930 adventure serials, you'd discover the tight pinch crown was EXTREMELY popular!

I recommend you get a copy of the original 1937 series 'Dick Tracy'. His hat is the most Raider'eque tight pinch you'll ever see....and every other man in the film has the same pinch...

I will agree with Michaelson. I was amazed at how many hats I have seen in the old films that had the tight pinch.

And the dimensional cut brim. Many think this was just the result of a costumer gone mad, but I have a brim flange dating from the old days that was a dimensional flange. So, the dimensional brim is era accurate too. True, it was not used that much, but it was indeed offered. Fedora

I have to agree with you, fedora, about the dimensionel cut. I think it was more common from the late 20s to mid 30s. My vintage close enough Indy hat has a pretty extreme dimensional cut and not a wide brim. You really need to get used to that after wearing a wide brimmed Federation!

I know that it doesn´t look really era accurate, but that was my aim, I wanted a bash, which looks different, a special look for our villain, to seperate him from the mass.

The hat is actually from "Franz Haas Hutmacher" from "Gmunden".
It was made in the year 1922 and looked horrible when I got it from a
antique market. Three hats from this period for just 3 Euro, nice price

Looks good to me. I'm a fan of the c-crown myself.

Actually, my favorite bash is the diamond crown. See George Reeves' version of Clark Kent.
