Walk in to your local Toy or Costume shop and look around for "Police Force Play Equipment: Police Pistol." Then go buy the fallowing:

1. Saw that will cut through plastic. A saw for wood will not work.

2. Aluminum Paint.

3. Flat Black Spray Bomb.

4. Sand Paper.

5. Screw Driver.

6. Rag's

Saw the barrel to the Length you want it. Saw the Sight off and glue it to the new barrel. Take the Grips off and rub them with sand paper lightly. Spray the base of the gun with the flat black spray bomb. Take the Aluminum paint and dab it on a rag do so untill it's almost dry then lightly rub it on the black parts of the gun. You might want to practice the aluminum part on something black first.

It should look like this:

About $20 and there is so much more stuff you could do to make it better.

Looking good. Next step would be a screen accurate ramped sight, removal of that round thingamabomb from the top and screen accurate grips. Otherwise job well done. :) Is it sized for a regular hand or a kid's hand?

Here's one of the guns from Raiders;

I like what you've done. What color was the gun before you painted it? And maybe I'm a bolt-head but, what the heck is a "Spray Bomb"? Around here, anything paint related with the word "bomb" in it is going to do a lot more than paint a cap gun!

I'll go back to the costume shop and see if i can buy that guys supply of the guns. If so then i could make them for you guy's but i wouldn't know what to charge. I wouldn't star making the gun untill it was ordered.

If you do a search for Dollar Store Revolver, you will find more than a few threads on this exact toy, including at least 3 I started myself

ie viewtopic.php?t=4615&highlight=dollar+store+revolver

It served as my main holster-filler for years before my Artsee1 came to live with me.

Could the grips be removed? Even if they had to be sawed off, thats OK...

The grips have screws to be removed. It's just finding new grips.

A little tip acting wise (if you ever want to use this gun in a fan film) try to make it look heavier, meaning act as if it is heavier like a real gun. Nice job on the gun and effects though.

Ya like every time the gun goes of you can see the reflection in the backround or something.

EXCELLENT JOB! Now that you have something to fill your holster, it'll be easier to make that look more realistic, too.

I followed some advice I read last year (and can no longer find) about soaking the holster around a gun or replica. Put the pistol in a ziploc bag to keep it from getting wet, jam it into a holster that's been SOAKED in water, and squeeze it into shape around the pistol. Let it dry with the pistol in it. When it's dry it'll look like the heavy piece has been sitting in it for years.
