Is the pocket flap wider than the pocket?

Hi,

My Wested pocket flap is arround 3/4 of an inch wider than the actual pocket. I notice that the G&B jacket doesn't seem to share this, nore does Platon's new jacket.

What do people think about this? Is the flap meant to be wider? It does change the look somewhat.

Cheers - Chris

Indeed the pocket flaps appears to be a little wider. Of course that maybe a result of the heavy distressing of the jacket.

I don't think it was originally made like that. There is no obvious reason why. No A-2 or other jacket is like that.

As a matter of fact, it looks ugly and that's why I didn't request it for my jacket.

My recently bought Wested has pocket flaps the same width as the pockets. Maybe yours was an error?

I personally believe the flap should be a fraction wider than the pocket, this is to stop the pocket from poking out either side and looking goofy.

Yeah, I actually agree. I think the flap looks better if it is slightly wider than the pocket patch.
