Not bad. Be prepared to take some heat over that pin. I understand, but some folks ... hoo boy.
Was this your first bashing job? It looks pretty good, albeit a little tapered.

Strider,
Thanks and yes, it is my first time at bashing a hat 'INDY' style, though I've had planty of practice at shaping fur felt hats (cowboy). I have 2 Stetsons and 1 Bailey.
As for gettin' heat on the pin....What can I say. My wife and I are DISNEY nuts. We have Premium annual passes and go every chance we get, usually when she is on vacation from school.
P.S. Thanks again for the help with the pics.

Nice lookin' hat!
My first Indy hat was a Federation, and I think it's a great hat, and you've done a nice job with yours!
I'm even willing to bet that it really isn't as tapered as the pics suggest. I've noticed that taking pictures from too close greatly exaggerates crown height and taper, as well as making the brim look HUGE, but standing a few feet back more accurately captures the actual appearance.
As an example: Same hat, photos taken about two minutes apart. My, what a difference distance and angle makes.

Hey, go easy on the Indy Pin, Strider my friend. That's 'old school', if you'll recall.
I don't wear mine either, but I still have it in my collection.
Regards! Michaelson

Samma här. How about some quality photographs from a distance and with you under it?

Nothin' wrong with an Indy Pin. Roots, for those who care and notice.

Just won this Builtmore on ebay. I believe the pin on the bow is stock, so there may be a tradition of pins. this hat looks like something from the Adam's Familly attic. .... I think there is a Builtmore/Miller Canadian connection. This model is the "President". Miller Indy's have "President Finish felt".
My Akubra Colley has a metal "Akubra" pin on the leather band where a bow would be.

Cool score, 3thou...there is a Miller / Biltmore connection. All of Miller Hats own line of hats are made by Biltmore for Miller, or at least they were. All my old Indiana Millers said something to the effect of "Custom made by Biltmore for Miller Hats" on the liner, so you are right on the money, there.
O-WJ, that's not a bad looking Fed you have there. Out of curiousity, how tall is that front pinch? Looks (to my eye) a bit on the tall side, that could be leading to the more slightly tapered look. Or, like WW pointed out, it could just be the angle. Either way, wear your Akubra well, it's a heck of a hat!

Nice looking lid o-wj. As far as the pin goes, I took the pin off my dorfman when I got it and put it on my old dorfman which the pin fell off of from many years of wear. Can't blame you for liking the pin, it is kinda cool.
