This issue of Star Wars Insider (No 69 May June 2007) has a nice reproduction of the Nadoolman sketch that is also on the making of DVD.
Sorry about the crummy pic, don't have a scanner to hand.
The article also includes the the notes next to it they read:
"BASIC OUTFIT WORN OF (SIC) AND ON THRUOUT (SIC) MOVIE."
"15 hats
25 shirts
10-12 pants
10 leather jackets
5 pr. boots"
There is also note for a feather attached to the lapel.
One note at the top of the page is very interesting:
"Wilson's House of Suede, for style
until character cast." Under that note it says "how many".
Obviously this annotated before Ford was cast.
Probably OLD stuff but interesting, eh?

Always interesting stuff.
Note Wilson's leather rears it's head yet again.

Did you notice who wrote the article? The same chap who did the recent Making of Star Wars book.
He was quoted as almost spilling the beans on doing a Making of Raiders book and now look what he's doing? He's going through the archives finding Indy stuff.
Methinks that the articles here are a precursor to the Making of Raiders book. I can't wait to find out if this is true. I've so been waiting for one for such a looooooong time. It's overdue if you ask me.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting this. Other than the skimpy hat, the sketch looks more like the Harry Steele rig from "Secret of the Incas" than Indy. The jacket sure looks like an A-2 or modified A-2. The pants and boots are worn just like Heston's in Secret.

Not wishing to throw too many coals onto the fire, but her design doesn't look much like the jacket we know and love. Hey, maybe Peter helped design it after all!

He had input, yes.

Good thing that wasn't the final jacket. Hideous. With the blazer front and the wool cuffs. Just the things I was trying to avoid when I first looked for a Raiders jacket.

Please be careful saying Peter designed the jacket. The evidence says he did not. He was handed three jackets (Wilson's, Western Costume, and Cooper) already made and told how to modify his for the finished product...
I knew I'd get a bite

Why in heck would he wear a feather on his lapel?? Was that in style back in the 30s? I figured a feather in his hat bow, maybe,..but the lapel??
Weird.

The feather is a plot point in the script in the very first paragraph (at least of the edition I have found).
The map is wound around the quill.

Good catch. I'm wondering if the "weird" feather in the draft script is the feather the drawing refers to. That draft of the script has the feather in Indy's hat; the line in the sketch seems to be pointing the lapel.

Really? If you'd write your responses on cardboard, they wouldn't BE so heavy now, would they?
Bet you missed me while I was gone, didn't you?
