WWAC Convention, Adam Winrich Videos, and Chris Barr whips!

Post by midwestwhips »

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to the WWAC convention in Claremore Oklahoma that starts Tomorrow. I suppose I can't say I've been going to the WWAC national convention for 7 years "in a row" anymore. :(

On his way down to the convention, Adam Winrich stopped by for the night yesterday. He brought along some absolutely beautiful Chris Barr whips, and I was blown away by the quality. Chris really did an amazing job with these whips. Here are some pictures I took of them this morning:

A pair of 3 foot Stockwhips with 12 plait handles, and 8 plait thongs:

A 7 foot single tone Stockwhip with 12 plait handle and 12 plait thong:

And a 7 foot Stockwhip with a 16 plait thong and 20 plait 2 tone handle:

They really are beautiful whips, and the plaiting on the handles is smooth as glass. Very impressive!

I also took a couple quick videos of Adam doing some routines with the 3 foot pair. I will try to get them uploaded to youtube, and post a link in this thread.

I hope everyone has fun at the convention, and I wish I could be there! :( I'll have to see everyone next year.

Regards,

Paul Nolan

oh man! It was really good to see that. I have an order for an IOAB with him and to see his skills and know he's at the convention and spent time with you and then i'll get my whip will be a little extra to the whole story.

I think it's great how all here at COW are working together even when they offer the same type of products.

Thanks for posting those!

I hear you, I had planned on going to the WWAC convention this year until two months ago when a basement floor pipe in my collapsed and turned into a major and very expensive  renovation project. Hopefully I can make it next year, or maybe I can make it to the Ohio convention this summer.

Chris “Deadringer” Bar did a beautiful job with those stockwhips. They really are function works of art. You don’t take as many titles as he has with out putting out very high quality work and in the skillful hands of Adam, as we can see in those too very cool video clips, its very clear to see why he’s one of the Top two handed whip artists in U.S. and a World record holder.

Thanks for sharing Paul, Hope everyone who went to Claremore has a great time.

The pics Paul took of the Barr whips turned out really nice.

I'm at Paul's house today, so we might take some more video for You-Tube.

Hey All,

Yeah, I suppose I should've take some video of Paul cracking whips for You Tube while I was at his house, but he seemed happy to help me out by taking video of me.

Some very cool things happened at the WWAC convention. For instance, I cut a cigarrette in half from Vince Bruce's mouth with a fire whip. Vince is one of the world's greatest ropers and western entertainers. I also got to be the chauffeur for Fred Schnieder, another great roper and whip cracker.

Check out the new video, compare it to the old ones, and I think it shows that at this year's convention I learned more about how to entertain with two whips.

And now I am really kicking myself for not making it to Claremore this year....Oh well, that's life....

That's some doggone impressive stuff you do, Adam. And I must say, the whips in that last video look kinda familiar....

Hey Chris,

Yeah, the whips in the last video are yours, painted white.

How's the new pair of 6 footers I want coming along? I should probably go ahead and order another pair of 3 1/2 footers as backups for the pair used in the video.

If you make me both pairs of whips, I'll upgrade your 5 ft 4-plait pair of whips to 6 ft 8-plait burgundy latigo.
