I wanted to share a couple pictures of a whip I've had dreams about making for the past 5 years. Ever since I first saw a Cecil Henderson whip. It is a 48 plait handle, 24 plait thong stockwhip. I finished it this morning, and here is my version of it:

Here are some pics of it with a Henderson thong that has similar patterns:

And just for good measure I've included a couple pics to show the strand size difference between a 36 and 48 plait:

I hope you like the pics, they may be a little hard to see the detail in some because I had to size them down really small. If anyone wants to see larger pictures of them, send me an email.

Paul,,
you should subit that beautiful piece to the competition, or make another in two tone, and send me that one, since you won't be needing it, lol.

Paul! I can't believe you'd actually claim Mr. Henderson's whips to be your work!

 Nice work. Your whips are pretty amazing. You make them look though as if they came straight out of Cecil's workshop. Keep up the great work.

Wow, very impressive Paul! I definitely want to see larger picture’s, so I’ll send you an e-mail. From what I can tell it looks fantastic though, a real beauty! Have you been cracking it yet? How does it throw?

I am really glad to see you finally made this whip, I think you did Henderson proud with your creation :D . I want one too  !

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments! :-)

J.J.,

Not a bad idea to make another in two tone

WhipDude,

It's fairly close, but there is definitely some differences between the one I did and Hendersons. I think with a few more attempts I can get it closer to his work. I just need to find the time to do it.

Dan,

I think I screwed up something in my photo program, I tried resizing the photos again from the originals, and I think they look a bit better. I'm going to have to figure out what went wrong.

I like the way it cracks a lot! Like Hendersons it is a larger diameter thong at the widest part. But the neat thing is that it doesn't feel heavy, it's pretty smooth cracking and doesn't wear you out. So I'm very happy with it's performance. I look forward to doing another one, hopefully soon. I learned a lot from doing this one.

Paul, another masterpiece ! I wish I had the talent to do that. I am lucky to get the right knot to tie my shoes. On a side note, I finally started working on that testimonial for your web site that you asked me to write.. I will send it to you this weekend, again you are a true master of your craft my friend !
Take care........

Oh yes, Paul...You WILL be doing another one soon... ;-)

By the way, that whip looks awesome! I hope you still have it by Annie Oakley, because I'd really love to take a closer look at it.

I don't show up to the forum for a few days and look at all the cool stuff that gets posted! Geez!
