For a set of boots that capture the spirit if not the letter of Indy's boots, consider those offered by H. S. Trask of Bozeman, Montana.

Trask shoes are made from bison, elk, or longhorn.
Trask describes its product as follows:
"As Bison grazed nearby, Harrison Trask conceived
H.S. Trask & Co. on the banks of the Madison River in late
October of 1993 while fly-fishing in Yellowstone Park.
Today, H.S. Trask & Co. designs rugged casual boots and
shoes made from American's Original Leathers™ -
Bison, Elk, and Longhorn - incredibly soft, yet amazingly
durable and ideal for any occasion."
Its boots are made of bison leather. According to Trask:

"American bison leather is tough and durable, yet has a soft, mellow feel.
Field tested for over 1000 years by Native Americans, Bison provides Old
Shoe Comfort, Right From the Start. TM Truly America's Original Leathers. TM"

So far, my personal experience with Trask's bison leathers fits this description. I have attempted to reasearch bison leather more generally but have yet to learn more about its quality characteristics.
Here are some photos of Trask boots.

This happens to be a topic that I could go on and on about. I have a pair of HS Trask dress shoes in bison that I have owned for nine years now. I wore them all through medical school, residency, and now in private practice. I have never applied any shoe polish to them and they still look almost brand-new. I mean these things have been indestructable.
I cannot recommend any pair of Trasks in the bison enough. They are amazing.
