Well, it seems
PLATON is truly the Doctor of Scallopology....
I originally used
PLATON'S guide here:
viewtopic.php?t=17315&highlight=wings to scallop the pocket flaps on my U.S. Wings goatskin Indy jacket... I also have a Wested LC lambskin that suffered greatly from the dreaded "no scallop malady"...
Well. if it worked on goatskin, it should work on lambskin right?
Let's see....
BIG improvement don't you think?
Now there is no excuse to let your flaps suffer needlessly...

Nice, it worked with mine as well. Lamb is softer and can be stretched quite easily.
Wested confirmed that they will send my order end of this week.
I am curious to see how the flaps will be like cause I have provided them with exact drawing of the flaps.

that whole procedure just boggles the mind
awesome results though. do you ever have any problems getting the snaps to line up after?

Thanks...
No, the snaps still line-up OK... I wait until the flaps are about half-dry, then snap them.... Reshaping a little if necessary.

I just used hot tap water. My jacket is goat. It took two goes to get the flaps looking okay. But I'm still anxioius to find out:
DO THEY RETURN BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL SHAPE OVER TIME??
Cheers - Chris

You may need to do it one more time after about a month.
Then they will stay put.

I used the hottest tap water I could get.

I answered you the last time in my U.S. Wings post

Flaps looking good. Will they stay like that or do they ride up with wear?
Might try it on my Wested.

Thanks..
Well.
I treated them with Lexol and Pecard's, then wrinkled them up some..... They still have the same shape. I am pretty sure they will stay like they are.
So, take your time and be careful.... 8-[

I've always been amazed by how large the LC pocket flap is.

It works on cow as well, just did it last night and this morning they're dry and looks great.
If you can't have your hands in the water then it's to hot. You can use cold water and get the same result.
Best regards,
Kim
