Club Obi Wan

These are two of the bikes used in The Young Indy Chronicles. My boss has a collection of vintage bikes and these were rented out for one of the young Indy episodes. They were not to be ridden as they are restored "dry" but were ridden in the episode(I don't know the name of it, my wife has seen the episode. They are at the shop she manages.) There is also a tandem But I did not get a picture of it.

Shaft drive bike dating around 1897, has wooden rims.




Ladies frame (Mixte) Has bamboo fenders and netted skirting to keep the ladies corset out of the drivetrain. Steel rims painted to look like wood. From the same era.

Those bikes are both really sweet! I'd like to get a look at that bike in person and see the wooden rims. Thanks for posting those pics!

I have heard Paisley is a good brand for classic British bicycles. Fairly pricey, however, and the US counterparts are even more expensive.

I agree. I have been an avid cyclist for several years, yet I have never seen a shaft-driven bike in person. That is pretty cool.

Great bikes , we have the same types here at the Curtiss Museum that was out on the floor for last years FL Summit. The top or first bike pictured is a Columbia Shaft drive bike made between 1897 and 1900. Ours here is the ladies version. The second bike is identical to our 1899 Waverly Ladies' Bike.
These were used in the Princeton episode were Indy meets Tom Edison.

My boss has a pretty good collection of vintage bikes and equipment. The oldest is a Penny Farthing with 56"(I think) wheel and oil lamp hanging from the hub.
