Hi all,
I'm just wondering regarding Wested's jackets... They say they add 4 extra inches for movements.
Now, I have a couple of coats from a certain brand, and apparently that brand makes trim fitting coats which add 2.5 inches.
So, I'm wondering, If I typically order a size 40 from said brand, should I order a size 38 Wested?
Even though I've already place my Wested order a while ago, I have this nagging uncertainty about going with a size 38 or a 40 (80s cut)... I don't want the jacket to be too tight to appear small, while I don't want it to appear too baggy either.

From what I understand (and I am by no means the expert here), the 80's cut provides less than 4" of room. So I guess we can extrapolate that a 40 in 80's cut might fit similar to a 38 regular cut.
In any case, I guess it's up to you how you want your jacket to fit. Personally, I ordered a lambskin that I can wear in warmer weather so I probably won't even zip my jacket up much. Therefore I went for a size smaller in regular cut. However my next one will be either HH or goat if it comes back and I'll get it in my regular size so I can wear something underneath it. It's all personal preference.
Maybe one of the gurus will chime in with more experience.
