Hello fellow COW members! I have just joined this past week after a fair bit of lurking and thought I'd drop in and say hello. I've been an Indy fan since I was little, and have always wanted to complete the ensemble of gear he used/wore. My current gear (though limited, currently) is as follows:

1.) Terry Jacka 8' australian whip (not identical to Indy's, but function none the less)

2.) Forever 21 LS Military Shirt

3.) Magnoli Clothiers Adventure Satchel

Of course I plan on expanding on this in the future, but I like what I've got so far.

Haha, I'm in the Army, so I won't have time to pick up a part time job yet. I'll be sure to post as soon as I get some more gear. I'll try to post some pics sometime as well.

Incidentially, I was wearing plain black cowboy boots and my grandfather's old issue olive drab wool Marine Corps trenchcoat last night while wearing my satchel. A girl commented to me that I looked like I was out of the Civil War! haha. I told her thanks!

Welcome lasher. I'd love to see a picture or two of your whip. Terry Jacka's are supposed to be among the finest. Once you get hooked on the fun of cracking, you'll want more. You'll probably end up with an Indy-style whip before too long. Not to mention a hat (or six), jacket(s), shoes... You get the idea :)

Blade Runner, I've had my whip for over two years and am definately hooked on cracking. I've used it a lot while hiking for a climbing aid (up steep terrain), and as a general "keep the wild animals away" tool. It always helps to have an extra 10' or so (with my reach) of strong leather "rope" if someone needed help (caught in rushing water, fell down a crevace, etc...) I really find it more useful than most people would think. The whip does have a good intimidation factor with the two-legged animals, as well. Something about a person with a whip says, "I am different from others you have encountered, and your previous experience did not prepare you for what I am capable of doing to you."

The shirt and bag, though, those are new additions. Just wore my shirt out tonight (bag in tow) and loved the way it fit. A little tight in the back when I cross my arms in front of me, but other than that it's a great fit. Still can't find enough reasons to go out and wear my bag, though. haha

Oh, here's the Terry Jacka whip I have:

Mine is the 8' 12-plait solid-brown standard-handled variety (just like you see in the pic).

Welcome to the fun Lasher. If Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford are smart, they'll will have been lurking here to be reminded of what proper Indy gear is. This a great bunch of people with a wealth of knowledge that could probably put some professional costume people to shame.
I would also like to add, Thank you for your service to the USA.
