U.S. Authentic Jacket

New here and can't find that the question has been asked before.

Has anyone done a review on the U.S. Authentic jacket? I recently bought an A-2 horsehide russet from them. It seems pretty good quality for the price although the zipper is somewhat cheap. I'm going to send it back either for a refund or maybe a trade for the Indy. Opinion appreciated.

If you want an Indy jacket, I'd get either the one offered by flightsuits (Gibson and Barnes) or a Wested. They are the most accurate.

Stinch, what size is your A-2? I was going to get one from them or G&B or Eastman. How is their sizing? know it doesn't answer your question but I was going off timing.

Well hello fedoralover, I recognize you. It was your post that made me decide to send the A2 back. Then if I was doing that, I might as well decide for sure what Jacket I wanted. I’m not one to throw money around on jackets I want wear. I ordered the Indy similar jacket from Sportmansguide, and figured if I liked it I would ask for a refund on the A2. If I didn’t like it I could send it back to SG and trade the A2 in on a Indy if there quality is good. From your comments and looking at prices, it looks like I’m better off getting a refund on the A2 and shopping elsewhere for an Indy.

I like the A2, but after wearing for a while, I'm not to keen on the wool cuffs, there annoying. I considered getting a G8 warm weather (no fur lining) flight jacket, but didn’t like the exposed zipper and long length. After seeing the Indy style, it looks like a cross between an A2 and a G8

My A2 is a 46. I would normally wear a 44, but US Auth. suggested a 46 and it fits perfectly. It is a more modern fit. The 44 would probably have fit, but with no room for layering if needed.

I don't have all my measurements at the moment, but I'm 5'-10" 198#, and I little bit broad shouldered.

Hey Stinchcomb, yes some of these forums overlap some. I had a G-8 and sold it to a friend that rode motorcycles, it was way too heavy. I have a Wested Indy in a distressed cow. I posted a pic of it here a while back. IMHO if you want a jacket for outdoor type of use, you might want to consider the flightsuits expedition in goat.

some feel they hold up better than a Wested, (let the debate begin). But they are a great jacket.

Yeah, I went to their site and it looks more like what I'm looking for. The Sportsmanguide jacket should be waiting for me when I get home. I'll go from there after seeing it. I'll post pictures for everyone tomorrow on this new jacket. Either way I'm going ahead and returning the A2 for a refund.

Thank you for all your input, it's much appreciated and helpful in finally making a truly informed decision this time.
