Here are a few photos of my new pre-distressed cowhide Last Crusade jacket. The second one is hanging next to an authentic brown lambskin Raiders. I can't say enough about the quality of the new jacket. Peter did a great job. It also weighs less than I expected and the cowhide is softer than I'd expected.

I want to thank the makers of the Indygear site and the forum posters here who posted jacket specs, sizing tips and photos. I consulted this board dozens of times when preparing my order. For those of you who are considering ordering a pre-distressed cowhide, hopefully these photos will be helpful.

Thanks for the pics, man. It looks awesome! About this, is the leather pre-distressed "looking," or is it actually distressed? I think I can see somewhat of a sheen on the jacket, so I am just wondering if it's actually beat up or just looks that way.

Hey, Strider. It's a distressed finish, as if the hide had a solid brown finish, then was sandpapered. The result is superficial cracks, like Michaelson mentioned once, and completely uniform. Although it would probably absorb some water in rain, I'm reluctant to use Pecard's right now, as I like the look of the jacket. I tested some Pecard's on the leather on the inside pocket, and after initially darkening it up substantially, the pocket's almost as light as the rest of the jacket only three days later.

The hide looks really great. The predistressed is surely my next choice!
St. Dumas the collar on your jacket looks like the collar I had on my Cowhide LC jacket which I had to send back for some other reason and the collar was such huge
Which size is that jacket? I haven't seen such huge collars before on the Wested LC style jackets. Have wested changed something?

Much regards

My LC Wested is HH which is distressing well on it's own. I have a pre-distressed Wested TOD which I asked Peter to install the infamous press studs ala LC and it is wonderful. It gets better day by day. The finish does still have a bit of sheen to it, inspite of the distressing. I find it quite interesting and absolutly love the jacket.

Of all my Westeds, I love the HH first, the pre-distressed second and the black goat ROTLA third. I also have the two lambs (dark brown and black -- both LC) -- the lambs are great, but a bit light for my idea of leather jackets. I like a leather jacket that feels like a leather jacket....I have a brown 'Raider' Jacket from Lost Worlds that truthfully seems more like a real 'Indy' if Indy had really existed in the 20's and 30's....some call this style the G8-type440....Lost Worlds says this naming is not accurate, because the jacket was never commissioned by the military and was purly civilian....but I think it would have been a great military jacket. It is a very heavy goat hide and next to my Wested HH, is my favorite....looks great with fedoras and with my re-po WWII military flight caps. Just my two cents. W>

Orb, the jacket is a size 42 R. I asked for the jacket to look as much like the photo of the pre-distressed one in the gear section as possible, and I told Peter that I liked the look of that collar. I wanted to be able to curl the collar over and have a bit of a roll to it, which seems to be working.

that is a coool looking jacket. I wish you had some pics of you in it so we could see how it looks on someone. Clothes always take on a different appeal if someone is in them. Did you ask for any mods? Could you maybe snap some pics outside? 8)
