Nice looking whip you received. It should darken to a very Indy color in time too.

Thanks. It's a '67 Fender Telecaster.

it looks like the wrist loop is more finely braided these days. I'm seriously considering getting a whip from purewhips. I've never owned a whip before and think that $160 for a cowhide indy is a good start. I can't justify buying a Morgan when I have yet to learn the art.
What do you guys think?

That was exactly my logic in going with Gus' whip. I went from pictures on his website and low and behold...a real nice whip came in the mail.
I would like to get a nice kangaroo whip eventually though. When my addiction has reached critical mass I'm sure I'll pony up for a high end whip.

Nice creamy color too!
Beautiful whip! More pics of you using it and with some other gear or something!

GC,
I think getting a whip from Gus is a good option. I got a whip from him last year. It is a wood handled 5 footer in roohide. I think it is one of his first roo whips. It isn't Indy style, but it is a nice whip. It's great for target work. You need to get yourself a whip and start cracking. Once you start, it is addictive.
Cheers.
