Yeah, and by the looks of the slide show on that link, the types of fedoras most of us prefer (taller crown, wider brim stuff more popular in the 20's, 30's and 40's) aren't really "IN". It's mostly the shorter crown, narrow brim variety, like what was popular during the decline and fall of the common hat (late 50's through the 60's and into the 70's). So I guess most of us will still be "unique", even if this trend takes off.

Couldn't find a pic of Brad in a hat that was remotely Indy. ...But, this guy came to my attention recently. "Pizza Patron" is pizza chain in the Southwest U.S. .

Several people have been saying that it would take someone who is very famous and highly visible to bring fedoras back into style. I think maybe guys like Depp and Willis were noticed, and other stars are trying the look. I think Brad Pitt could definitely bring fedoras back into style.

I seem to recall Aufschnaiter's hat in Seven Years in Tibet was somewhat better looking. And he treated it like a REAL Indy hat.

Unfortunately, this still won't gain me any traction with my wife, who thinks public fedora wearing is for old men, weird old men at that.
Will be interesting to see her reaction when she sees the leopard print band I'm having added to my hiking hat...

DETROIT (AP) — A man recently released from prison after serving his sentence for a murder committed at age 11 has opted for a more conservative look as the beginning of a quest for a new job.
Nathaniel Abraham, who took his first steps of freedom last month in
a cream pinstripe suit, red shoes and a fedora, on Friday modeled black, blue and brown suits for his mother and a judge, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Abraham, 21, was at the Michigan WORKS! building to pick up suits through the Jackets for Jobs Inc. program, which provides interview-quality clothing for men and women having tough financial times, or ex-prison offenders.
Maybe we need more social misfits and outlaws to help bring the Retro-Style into the mainstream…

There's definitely a change on the way.
Every time I wear my Fedora people compliments me and recently some of my friends have been asking my advice on good hat links. Now that's a big thing in a country with only 5 million people.

Fedoras have crept naturally back into the scene in Tokyo as well, and everybody appears to associate them with good style, and not a particular adventure movie. For this reason, I don't look forward to the renewed asscociations, and the "tune" being hummed behind my back by strangers next year.

Here's a trick for you, Russ. If you haven't got one already, purchase one that isn't brown. For some really weird reason, unless the hat is brown, I have NEVER received or heard any Indy comments regarding a hat.
Brown? yes. Gray? never.
Once the movie interest dies down, go back to the brown.
