Here are some pics of my U.S. Wings clearance Indy Jacket in goatskin. The jacket is a size large.

I am much more happy with the large than the X-large that was exchanged. This one will do nicely until my Wested arrives....

Note: I am sucking-in my gut in the last pic... I DO plan on losing it very soon.....

Looks good!! It will be a great 'backup' jacket when you don't want to wear your Wested.

thats a really good fit on you technonut! question....is the left sleeve a 3 panel construction and the right sleeve 2 (or are they both 3)?

i was aware that they needed to panel some of the jackets but i thought they would be consistent on right side/left side....no?

Heh.... You just had me run and look. Pictures are funny sometimes. Both sleeves are 3 panel construction.

Speaking of 3 panel sleeves, I recently picked-up a lightly used Aero Longshoreman that has 3 panel sleeves also. It kinda has that "Indy Look" don't you think?

Aero: 1 snazy jacket! Very cool.

Wings: Very nice not seen one in the goatskin before, usually people get it in the antique lamb. Looks very good, can't get over the zipper on the 'wrong' side though! So untidy!

Let me tell you something, KT, once I FINALLY got used to the Wested zipper...you're right, a Wings standard zipper is difficult to get used to again.

I contacted Gemma @ Wested and asked for a right-handed zipper.

I can't wait to get it... It is a LC in dark brown horsehide.


BTW: Would a Pecard treatment work well on goatskin? I mean, would it soak in?

A very light coat never hurts, but since goatskin is already fairly water resistant naturally, to much can make it tacky.

Go EASY with your application if you do apply Pecards, and once it's hung overnight, buff with an old, clean, dry tee shirt to a soft shine.

Personally, I only use Pecards jell (they call it lotion, but it's jell) that helped loosen really stiff goatskin. I've never applied regular Pecards. Like I said, goatskin doesn't really NEED the extra water resistance...but the jell does help loosen and dress the leather, making it softer quicker.

Yeah, what Michaelson said, and when you get that Wested HH, forget about Pecards for awhile, the leather will NOT take it. I tried both regular and the Jell, neither will soak in.

The Wings goat is a nice jacket, I like the color and grain very nice. How do you like your Aero? Does that one have the shearling lining? I got a Bootlegger and just love it.

Yeah, I forgot to ask for that right handed zipper, kinda strange using it the other way, but I think I've got the hang of it.
