Question Regarding The Adventurebilt

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am in the process of purchasing an Adventurebilt. I did not realize that there were two different felt thicknesses... A medium weight felt and a lightweight felt. I think I would prefer the medium, but I just wanted to check to see what others had thought and how it compares to the HJ or Akubra, etc., as far as thickness.
Any info would be appreciated because I have no idea at this time...
Thanks!

I have the medium and love it. From what i have seen posted, the lightweight might not be the best choice for an all purpose hat, such as you would need on those Peruvian adventures...KC

Medium! - The lightweight is neither as screen accurate nor as "the best choice for an all purpose hat" (well put KC).

Agreed. The light weight is PERFECT for warm weather, where the mid weight is perfect for all other times.
I have both, and am currently wearing the light weight in this crazy warm Southern winter we're 'enjoying' at the this time.
For a one hat choice, though, mid weight is the best be all-do all AB.

So Steve actually offers the lighweight now? I was under the impression that he wasn't going to offer the leightweight felt. Michaelson, how does it compare to a certain Borsalino?

Not sure it's the same offering, but it's a dead ringer to a match up with that Borsalino, bink.

Really?! So it's as thin and "impressionable" as that Bors? Steve, do you still offer this lightweight felt? It's what I've been looking for!

Not sure if it made his 'cut', if you know what I mean....but then his is not the pursuit of a dress hat felt, which this really is.

Gotcha. I remember when he was looking into a lightweight felt, but then I thought he dropped the idea and stuck with the medium weight only, so as to keep on top of his workload better. Oh, well. There I go getting my hopes up again.

Very funny Binkmeister! I'll tell my wife you said it was ok.
And Michaelson has to add to the trouble... Although it is a tad bit warm here in NH... Does that mean Summer is going to be deadly or is this just a bizarre weather pattern for now?
I'm going to be going for the mid weight.
Thanks again!
