Here are some pics of two 24 plait 2 tone 6 foot whips I finished recently. They both have 10 inch handles, but one is made of the normal steel foundation, and the other is Aluminum.

They look fantastic, Paul! Just curious what the notes on the tag say. I think it says box pattern or something on the knob, dunno if that's right. Any discernable difference between the steel handle and the aluminum, as far as weight is concerned? And if so, did you load each handle differently with any lead? Very nice work.

Steve.

You know as much as I like the 3 tone bullwhip you just posted in another thread, those two are more my style. They are very classic, sleek and elegant looking bullwhips, and I bet they fall very fast and accurate. I also really like seeing the influence some of the past great whipmakers have had on your style and the “Nolan” box knot you been using looks just cool. Needless to say, I really like those two a lot. What’s your take on the handles though? Do you like the aluminum or the steel better? I’m probably splitting hairs, but I’d imagine the aluminum foundation aside from being rust resistant and would maybe allow for a bit more fine tuning weight and balance wise?

Keep up the good work Paul.

Dan

Both of the whips were constructed the same, the only difference is the handle foundations.

The tags on the whips describe the specifics of the whip. The length, plait number, handle length, knot type, and any other specifics about the whip. The "Box Pattern" is regarding the turks head knot.

I really like these two whips. They crack with ease and are very accurate. I expected them each to feel and handle very differently due to the weight variation between Aluminum and steel. I cracked them both quite a bit to analyze the differences, and to see which I preffered. The differences are very slim. They are both very accurate and handled excellently. The only slight difference is that the weight of the thong could be felt a little bit more with the aluminum handled one, but it wasn't by much. I tried to pick which one I liked better, but in the end I couldn't choose.

I am very happy with both whips!
