nice work $3thou! she's definitely a beauty....i think your too far from the camera most of the time so we can't really appreciate all of its lines and creases until you walk towards the camera. i salute your efforts though...came out very nice!

It's a pity the lighting in the video isn't better, it's hard to make out the specifics of the bash.
Shape looks good, although not (to me)noticeably better than some other hats I've seen. And I can't help feeling the brim looks a tad wide. I don't think I'll stick a fork in you yet (whatever that expression means??)

With the resurgence of fashion styles from the past that we see in today's pop culture it is inevitable that we will get back there. It's guys like 3M$, Marc, yourself and too many others on this board to name that are paving the way!

I was thinking the shadow reminded me of the Well of the Souls. As for the brim, I happen to like it. I am beginning to believe that the brim of the hat has always been wide like 3K$'s, and that the dimensional cut does not go all the way down the sides of the brim, but is just up on the front edges(think like the hat in LC, only cruder cuts). Man, I wish mine looked as good. You have a wonderful hat, 3K!! Wear it 'till ya wear it out!!

mark seven, I have news for you. It's fashionable to wear pants in public. Better put yours back in the wardrobe. Seriously, whether fedoras become "fashionable" or not, wear it because you WANT to wear it, not because trends tell you to. It's all in the attitude of the wearer. Regardless of trends, people can spot a bloke who knows how to wear a hat and does so for his own reasons.

The front pinch is 4 1/2 in. tall, yet the open crown height remains 5 3/4 in. The sweat is out of the hat in both these videos, and there is a 3 in by 1 inch strip of folded paper towels above each ear. (you can see one for a moment in the first video) I feel my head is longer/narrower than Ford's. I took the sweat out ONLY to loose a couple millimeters in the fit front to back, and the stuffing to make my head rounder. --- If my head was closer to Ford's shape, but the same size, I could make a smaller Akubra work without removing the sweat and using stuffing. I'd still move the front of the crown into brim, but not as much. There's visual evidence of this crown into brim operation in Ford's hat in my opinion. --------- I took a little brim width off on my right side since the first video.

Wow, you really don't waste any time with these videos, do you? If you blink, you might just miss the hat entirely! In all seriousness, that hat looks awesome to me. Makes me want to buy a regular Fed right now and give it the "official 3thoubucks" treatment! I just don't think I can muster the patience for the 20+ hours of sanding!!! I'm still astounded by that feat of effort. That's a lot of work for a hat. Looks like it was worth it, though! Nice job, once again!
