Bernardo's whips

Hello all,

I have ordered my first good bullwhip... (the whip I have had since i was a kid is a very nice nylon cow whip from Florida)

I am getting one from Bernardo. It is going to be made of Kip, 10 ft. with the slight hourglass/tapered handle that Bernardo has shown here on the forum.

He has been very good to work with and I am excited to see his work in person.

Who out there has one (or more) of Bernardo's kip whips? Can you give me a review and stats of your Bernardo whips?!

Thanks!
Jeff

Hi coronado,
Welcome aboard :)
I don't have a Bernardo my self BUT I have seen and cracked a 10 foot Bernardo and It's a beautiful whip, well pleated and It has a nice feel to it when you crack it. You will not be disappointed.

Best regards,
K

i've got an 8' kip raiders replica that i scooped off someone on e-bay...it may have been kt templar who i didn't know back then....now i feel bad about that because kt has given me a wealth of info on leather jackets. kt, i hope to meet up with you at a summit someday so i can buy you a drink :D

anyways k on the run, you have chosen very wisely for a whip. i am extremely pleased with my whip. if you do a search, there is another thread....something like "praise for bernardo" or something to that effect and there are some reviews in there for you.

crack with care.

I am fortunate to have several of Bernardo's whips in both Kangaroo and Kip.

Bernardo's whips are very well made: the plaiting is detailed, tight, nicely tapered, and well rolled. And, the weight and balance suit my taste.

In addition to being very skilled, Bernardo is very responsive, accommodating, and he takes pride in his work.

Note to self, next time in Canada to visit relatives stop off at G's to take him up on that offer of a drink (you know us Brits and drink), have a go at that whip cruelly bidded away and treat him to a order or two of Uni sashimi.
