US Wings and their clearance jackets

Post by Alathea »

Is there any QC issues with the US Wings clearance jackets? I am ebaying right now for a purchased but too small Goat that he's had for a week or two. Its perfectly my size with a sweater and within my budget as it were at this point in time.

He purchased it new (according to his auction post) for 160ish, which, after looking at the US Wings site leads me to believe its a clearance jacket. Their regular Indy Goat sells for 100 more so what is the difference?

These clearance jackets are not seconds, so no, no QC issues.

I've been wearing mine for over a week now, and it's extremely comfortable and well made in my opinion. Very timely too, as it arrived the day before temperatures dropped like a rock around my area.

If I don't hit the auction Ill buy one from US Wings. I wonder why there is such a price difference-is it just production cost, or is Marketing trying to play the xenophobe angle, albeit subconsciously perhaps, knowing that 'USA' will garner a higher price point?
...Talk amongst yourselves..........

Ive got to stop taking these business classes......they are warping my mind!

Import costs are what keep fluctuating. If you've read the posts about the clearance sale items, they're assembled in China. The standard Wings jackets are US made, so the production costs were kept down by assembling this grouping overseas. Problem is, to import the finish items back into the U.S., the price has been impacted.

If you use the information posted in the vendor section regarding the 'code' for us Indyfans, you can get the jackets in the clearance section from China for the original quoted price of $149, rather than the raised price of $169 as shown on the Wings site.

You better hurry and make up your mind, though, as of last week over half of the jackets had been sold, so size selection is rapidly dwindling.
