After some serious thought and extreme effort in finding the right hardware I proudly present you what I think to be the most screen accurate strap configuration ever. I'll let the photos do the talking.

While it is not very clear I think that we all see one black rectangular piece. LET'S FACE IT GUYS, THAT'S THE ONLY REASONABLE WAY SO THAT THE STRAPS ARE FACING BACKWARDS.

The hardware that does is is shown below



I must note however that in the first photo I 've taken the shot without having removed the d rings (they can still be seen if you look carefully)

The reason for this is that I only have one piece so I need one more to install them on the jacket permanently. Also, the moving part of the piece is pried and not yet closed into place. The piece came with a stupid dog shaped kids bag that I had to buy in order to get it. I got one to make the trial, so now I need to go back to the shop and get another one.

When I install them on the jacket I'll get you some more better looking pics.

eh, could be but im not buying it as "full-proof, thats the way it was"...its a possiblitiy but unless peter can comment on this it's just another opinion to me.

These were part of the Chris King specs when they were first set out upon the world of Indy jacket hunters back in the day (1999-2000?). Wested has had these in the past and they slowly wore out their welcome once Peter sourced some rectangular sliders. At the time these were known as standard sliders. Wested has them only in chrome if I'm not mistaken. They look pretty good in black though.

I always like those too, but for some odd reason never thought to ask for them to be installed on one of MY jackets.

I never really liked them. Way I see it is that if FS is using the rectangular sliders off of a screen seen stunt jacket, that's good enough for me to know that the basic sliders are not screen accurate. The only reason Wested began to use them is because a fan asked them to.

The main thing is, Platon, that you are happy with what you got.

I liked the looks of them myself, but I'm more into functionality than screen accuracy. Those look like they'd be more functional than anything else we have going, as they'll hold an adjustment, but they can be easily adjusted if the need arises.

Ah well. To each his own.

Speaking of which, I was cleaning off my dresser and found a shipping paper with a pair of the rectangular sliders taped to it. Written on it from Dave Marshall was a note saying 'Ask _ about these', dated about 2002. I never did.

So, do you remember what you were supposed to tell me?

And choice of hardware is really that-a matter of choice-as far as I've always been concerned.

But, it looks like Wested is still positioning the straps too high for the LC jacket to me.

I'll always kick myself in the @#$%!@#$$#% for altering the collar on the first and BEST Indy jacket I've ever owned (which I ended up sending back to Wested to see if they could fix it, which they then "lost" and sent it to someone else who was surprised that the LC jacket had such a SHORT collar!!! But, I digress)--the LC distressed cowhide I got from Michaelson WAAAY back in the day (1998, I think that was). The straps on that jacket, as far as positioning (at the very bottom of the handwarmer pockets and running almost into the handwarmers) were perfectly placed. They're now placed about 1/2 the distance between the top and bottom of the cargo/handwarmer pockets....WAY too high.

But the hardware---I agree....a matter of personal preference.

I perfected the strap configuration. I found the right hardware. It's called a 'theta' around here...

I'd love to hear your opinions folks.

Looks really nice PLATON. May or may not be the way it was done.... But it sure does give good results.

Now....go find us all a vendor that sells these so we don't have to go buy key ring thingys....cause I want a set LOL

I already have found the vendor. They have all kinds of hardware like this. I can go and pick up these buckles from them.

Question is, at what price should I make these available?

nice find platon.....unfortunately i like my sliders on my raiders goat. now if you find screen accurate TOD buckles then i'll be a calling
