I'm in the market for a Wested and was wondering what is the best way to order. Is it safe to use the online ordering method through Wested's website?...or should I call in my order?
Thx.

Start with the on line. Then after a day or two call and or write them. It is importent that you have good measurments and an idea of which jacket you want, give them as much information as you can.
Keep in contact with them during the prosess and things should work out fine. Peter and Gemma are great to deal with.
Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff.
Now, all I have to do is decide what type of style jacket to get and leather
(lamb or goat)...

Well it depends on seveal things. First, does it get cold or stay warm where you live? Second, are you planning on wearing your jacket all the time (weather permitting)? Third, do you have to have it "drape" exactly like the film virsion? So you know, I live in So Cal which stays warm. I bought for my jacket a Raiders, Authentic Brown Goat. I love it. I know no matter what I throw at it it will last.

The weather hits both extremes based on the season. Typically, I don't wear jackets that often (that will change when I get my jacket). I like the drape of the film version (which I assume you would get with the lamb and not the goat). At this point, I'm leaning more toward the goat.
Is the goat a heavier jacket than a lamb? Also, I'm going to have a tailor obtain my measurements since I have an athletic build (44-46R). I'm a little concerned the jacket may be too wide at the waist (even if I tighten the side straps all the way). I've read somewhere that Peter can look at a person and judge their size accurately. I'm wondering if anyone ever
e-mailed a photo of themselves to Wested and they were able to get an estimate of how to design the jacket based on the photo and supplied measurements (i.e chest, sleeve length, etc.)?

You could always ask them to taper it slightly and give them shoulders, chest, and waist measurements along with your height and the height of your torso or something.

Thanks for the suggestion Solo.
I think I'll take a few photos of the jacket with me to the tailor and get their opinion of what measurements to take and submit to Wested.

The goat I bought from Perter is butter soft and drapes just like the lamb. As for weight, I compared it to the lamb and it is a tad heaver but just. I have an old cow skin that feels like a lead weight compared to the goat. The more I wear my goat the more I love it.

Jeff
