Took the plunge! Ordered a G&B!!

Hey all, after recently getting to see a few G&B Expeditions in person, I decided I needed to own one of these jackets. I had purchased a used Chrome Seal Goat from Rundquist, that was slightly too large, so I traded it to Shawnkara for a Wested goat.
GMann was selling a beautiful dark brown lamb Expo for a killer price, and thinking it may fit, I bought it. It was beautifully made, and the leather was extraordinary. It was so soft, yet felt strong. The cut was really nice, and it just draped perfectly. The pleats were nice and deep, and the pocket flaps were dead on accurate.
Unfortunately, the jacket was too small for me, and I had to return it.
If your a true size 44, I would contact GMann and pick this jacket up for a steal. It is beautiful.
Anyway, saddened about losing such a nice jacket, I decided to use the refunded cash, and the money from my recent Wested lamb sale, and ordered up a brand new Seal Brown Lambskin Expo. I was told that it should be ready in about 2 weeks, and should ship out on October 6th.
Here's to hoping. Just in time for Halloween. Now hope there are no snags in the time frame.

Well, I can always ask Santa for the XBox 360, lol. The jacket, I want NOW!! Thanks for the comments folks. I can't wait to get it. The one I got to see in person just blew me away. No worries tho, I still love my Westeds. I want one of their War of the Worlds jackets real bad, just wish they would offer it in goat or cow.

G&B's turnaround time at this moment is really good. I was told that they aren’t currently working on any major contracts, although that may change by the end of the year. I’ve recently gotten some jackets from them and the turnaround time was really great. Two weeks is accurate. I just got an ANJ-3 delivered right on schedule. Although you boys are talking lambskin (nothing wrong with that), I’ll use this platform to say that their current chrome goatskin is the softest that I’ve ever gotten from them. My ANJ-3 was made from their “dark seal” goatskin. I also recently got a jacket from them made out of black goatskin and it’s just as soft. My buddy said that the impression that he got from the hides was from that of lambskin. I can’t comment on their current “light seal” goatskin because I haven’t gotten a jacket made from it in quite a while. I would expect that it’s just as soft, but who knows. Cheers

Yes, the G&B Goatskin jacket is absolutely incredible. When mine arrived, the grain was consistent throughout the entire jacket, as well as very soft.

Well, the turnaround time IS very quick right now. Ordered Sept 22nd, shipped on Oct 3rd. Should have it on Monday, the 9th. Pretty fast if you ask me.

Congrats, Mike. I know you've been digging the G&B and of all the jacket problems you've been having lately you deserve one that'll work out for you. I'm sure this one will.

Thanks Agent5. Well, today was the day. I got home, and there was my G&B waiting for me at the door. I was so excited to open it up, and try her on. It was beautiful right out of the box, and the lambskin is so soft, with really nice grain.
Sadly,...I put it on, and it's too big. With my recent weight loss(40lbs), I am no longer a 48. What stinks, is I had originally wanted to order a size 46, since that was my chest measurement, but I second guessed myself.
Now, I have to ship it back and wait for a remake in a 46.
Bummer,

On a side note, if a jacket is too large, will the liner tend to feel loose inside of a G&B?? Or a Wested, for that matter?
The one thing I noticed when I put it on, was on the non storm flap side, the jacket already started to "demon roll", right out of the box, and the liner wanted to creep around and show behind the zipper. I assume it was because of the loose fit.
Anyone else notice this with a size too large jacket??

Hi Indiana Blues-- Hang there with G&B. To answer your question, my experience is that it does not matter if the G&B jacket size is a size up or one down (I have tried on 38R, 40R, and own a 42R)...the feeling that the jacket is sort of slipping around on you is, I believe, a function of the lining material...not the satin lining like Wested...but definitely NOT the all cotton blend of a Wested (which has its own wear issues) or the cotton-poly blend of some like the AVIREX (before they went Hollywood). For example, I have a 20-year old Avirex A-2 with a cotton-poly liner and it stays where it is told...too much some times...that jacket tends to "feel" smaller than it really is because the lining is not "moving with you". The G&B will have a "bigger feel" to it because the lining is moving around with you...too much so sometimes. None of this probably makes any sense...sorry to add to the confusion. But hang in there, I.B.!

Congratulations, that stinks!
You will have the perfect jacket soon enough, and sending it back for a smaller size because of a 40lb. weight loss is the best reason I can think of to send a jacket back.
A huge part of what makes the Indy jacket look like Indy's jacket is the height vs. width measurement. The narrower you can wear your jacket, the closer the look, in my opinion, as it will bring it closer to Harrison's proportions.
You are taking huge strides in getting a cool-looking jacket by losing weight. That is the best thing you can do to be screen accurate - and healthier. Anybody can buy the clothes, but the look has to do with physique as well.
Forty lbs. is impressive and takes huge will-power. Well done! Oh, and good luck with the jacket.

Thanks Rick.
I have been going back and forth on this all night, wondering: "Should I??....Shouldn't I??" What really convinced me to send it back, was the overlap. I can overlap the ftont of the jacket about 6 inches, almost completely covering a cargo pocket. I assume that is way too much room for an Indy style jacket. A regular "off-the-rack" jacket, I could live with it being so loose. An Indy jacket, however,.... no way.
She goes back. Besides, I still have more weight to lose....for all I know, the 46 may end up too big by next year.

Got my G&B on Friday, and man is she a beauty!! Everything is perfect, fit, look, drape,...everything. The lambskin is so buttery smooth.
The customer service was top notch, and it was on my doorstep on the date promised. Now, all I need is to wear the heck out of it!
I took some pics today, but they were crappy. I will take some new ones and post them this week.
