I know some of you guys may find this question stupid, but I still have to ask.

The difference of Auth Lamb and Dark Lamb is only in the color?

Any of you having both jackets or samples of both leathers can comment?

I am looking at ordering a dark lamb at the moment but really want it to have the fine grain as my auth. lamb.

Help please.

I thought the dark lamb was from English sources, and the authentic lambskin Italian.

I thought that both were from Italy now.

In theory they should have the same grain, but you can ask for smooth if it worries you. As with everything natural these can differ from batch to batch, animal to animal.

If these leathers are English & Italian then why I hear that Peter comes to Greece for business?

He has very good family friends there, and loves to vacation in Greece. He's done that as long as I've known him.

I was wondering about the differences in the colors as well. I have a 1999 dark lamb that was very supple and draped well from day one. The leather on my 2004 (or was it '05?) authentic brown jacket felt much thicker and not as supple. Maybe it would have gotten more supple over time, but I sold it. I'll never know now.

I was thinking of getting another Wested and called the company last week. I was told there should be no difference in suppleness between authentic brown and dark brown jackets other than whatever differences there are in the hides used in making the jackets. He said suppleness comes from the hides, not from the dyeing. Does that match up with your understanding?

I bought a dark brown lamb earlier that was as soft as glove leather right out of the box.

I think that anything made from animal skins is going to be slightly different from batch to batch.

All the lambskins are of English/scottish origin tanned in Italy. They do vary slighly as no two animals are exactly the same and the time of year is also a factor for size and thickness.
In greece I have made sheepskin gloves, mittens, slippers and rugs and sell fashion jackets in exchange. Have done for 20+ years.
I don't just make Indyjackets. In fact I am off to Corfu, Greece next week for a short vacation

That's the movie Peter has been working on these past few months, and kept him away from the forum, VP. You probably missed those posts when you were away on your Russian trip. It has been mentioned several times in different posts.

Well, that's a different question all together, isn't it? You asked if Peter had anything to do with the movie that KT mentioned, and if not, why was he posting the information. Peter is involved.

Why this thread? Why no BTW or anything in KT's post? Just seems strange to me when we are talking about different skins and KT posts about the publicity of some random movie Peter's been working on.
